5.0 out of 5 stars Full Bodied Not Too Strong
First time I tried Sumatra in a large order from Amazon and I was not disappointed. I read the reviews before selection and was encouraged to try this blend. When I grind Sumatra beans for a drip coffee maker it is stronger. This Pod-style Sumatra blend is not too strong and should please most coffee drinkers. Very satisfactory - will probably stick with this selection...

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful taste
Based on the reviews, I ordered a 6 pack of these. BAD IDEA.
We have tried a number of different varieties of pods, these are by far the worst.
This stuff is so bad no one here will drink it.
You might want to buy one bag and try it before ordering a 6 pack.

Very satisfactory - will probably stick with this selection for future purchases. The quick and easy brewing using Senseo is so great for people on the run - or too sleepy to grind and brew. Tastes great from first sip to bottom of cup!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Twin Mom, August 31, 2008
This review is from: Senseo Sumatra Blend Coffee, 16-Count Pods 23.52 Oz (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
We love our Senseo, and the Sumatra Blend, which is rich and dark, yet smooth and not bitter. Far superioe to their Dark Roast.

We are starting to have trouble consistently finding it in the local stores, and buying it on autopuchase at a discount through Amazon makes a lot of sense, both for convenience and price.

Great coffee. Stronger than "dark" and "medium" that I find in my grocery store.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best Senseo Pods? I love my senseo, November 8, 2011

This review is from: Senseo Sumatra Blend Coffee, 16-Count Pods 23.52 Oz (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I've had a Senseo now for, wow, six years. It's not as cool as a Keurig, but the Keurig is slower, pods cost a lot more (when I last looked, a while ago now) and don't produce a better cup.

There is/was a Blue Mountain pod, but I never tried it. I would rate a cup of this pretty much on par with what you would get out of a mid-grade Sumatra bean in a drip pot; maybe even as good as a French press. Of course, it's smaller...

Comparing this with the rest of the Senseo pods, it's somewhere between medium roast and dark roast (in flavor), but softer and richer. It's well worth the extra expense (minor cost difference between this and dark roast pods). One of my favorite products period. I start every day with at least one cup of this.

This coffee is yummy. It is my favorite of all the pods. The Senseo coffee system provides a truly European experience. The Sumatra blend is strong and flavorful without being overpowering and it fills my cup with a perfect layer of froth. LOVE

BJ's Brewhouse started serving Douwe Egberts coffee a few years ago. I loved it so much, I went online looking for a way to purchase it for home. It turns out, Douwe Egberts partnered with Phillips to create the Senseo coffee pod system for the sole purpose of marketing their coffee to the United States. This is the most remarkable coffee I've ever been able to make at home. It's restaurant quality, and Amazon has the best deal on the pods. Especially now that they offer the subscription program.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tastes like the worst "office" coffee, November 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Senseo Sumatra Blend Coffee, 16-Count Pods 23.52 Oz (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I ordered this case of pods based on all the positive reviews, which are usually right on (thanks everybody!), but I thought this coffee tasted horrible, and was especially disappointed because I love Starbucks Sumatra and it didn't have any of the distinctive Sumatra taste. This is Sumatra BLEND. I didn't notice the "blend" part but regardless it tastes like Sumatra blended with the cheapest office coffee ever. So bad I gave it away. Sorry I can't be more specific about the flavor except to say it tastes like cheap coffee...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Senseo Pod, March 13, 2008

I've tried most of the Senseo pods... if you like a really rich, bold flavor and aroma, Sumatra is far and away the best! In fact, you can make a much better version of French Vanilla by flavoring this blend yourself than by buying the French Vanilla flavor, which really lacks much vanilla flavor at all.

And this is the ONLY one in which I can make 6oz per pod and still end up with decent coffee. (Still better to stick to 4oz/pod IMHO.)
