More About the Author

Dr. H.M. Hashemian has a Doctor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Nuclear Engineering. Through Analysis and Measurement Services Corp. (www.ams-corp.com), which he founded in 1977, Dr. Hashemian has worked for almost all of the 104 nuclear power plants currently operating in the United States as well as many in Europe and Asia. He has presented seminars, training courses, and lectures to nuclear industry professionals in 15 countries. Dr. Hashemian has written two technical books (translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian) and is the author of ten book chapters, ten U.S. patents, and over 250 published papers, including 30 journal articles. He is active in such nuclear energy organizations as the US Department of Energy, US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, International Atomic Energy Agency, and International Electrotechnical Commission. He was elected a Fellow of the International Society of Automation in 1992 and is a member of the American Nuclear Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and European Nuclear Society.
