The best mp3 player on the market,
By Hector J. Morales (Guatemala, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
The rave 2200 is the best mp3 player in the market, it has great features like FM tuner, memo and telephone storage and a voice recorder. I have tried many mp3 player like the samsung yepp, RCA Lyra, and others and this player is the best. It has a very fast rate of downloading songs from your computer to the player via USB. It uses one AA battery which is great because you get about 10 hours of music in just one battery. One of the best things of this mp3 player is that it has an internal memmory of 64 MB and is expandable to 128 MB, plus it has many great and easy to use software to download songs from your computer to the player and to rip your songs from your cds. Overall a great product, which I recommend you to buy.

Sensory Science Rave mp2200 is Awesome!,

This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
The Ravemp2200 is probably the best mp3 player on the market because it's small and has the greatest memory capacity available in its price range, up to 128mb. It uses a USB connection to transfer files which is really fast and so much better than the parrallel port mp3 players around. They can take a couple minutes to transfer a song whereas the USB connection only takes a couple seconds. It can carry any kind of file, which means you can just use it as file transportion between home and work if you want. An excellent plus is the FM tuner that the popular Rio500 does not have. The Ravemp2200 can also accept 64mb smart media memory expansion cards; the Rio500 can only take 32mb cards. The Ravemp is extremely small and light. It's about the size of a credit card and as thin as a deck of cards. It has no moving parts so you can jump and bounce and jog as hard as you want without one skip. It's more than small enough to fit in your pocket. You can also get a tape-deck adapter and make it work in the car. You can get 10 hours of play on just one AA battery and it just works great overall. Possibly the only drawback is that it doesn't work on Macs but it has so many other pluses.

Absolutely no doubt - the BEST player on the market,

After having checked the reviews of all the leading MP3 players, I finally made my purchase of the Rave 2200. And it really is a great as I expected. Here are the highlights: 64MB and expandable to 128 w. standard SmartMedia Card - Fast USB connection fills up 64MB in something like 3 minutes - Very good FM radio - Very good PC software - Neat design, very small size. The enclosed headphones do not allow the player to live up to its full potential though, so I scrapped them and got a set of Sonys, which now gives me really really good sound. At ... - I wouldn't really call it "cheap", but considering the excellent quality of this product, I am altogether extremely happy with it.

Nothing but problems,
By J Rod (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
I purchased my 2200 after reading numerous reviews on various Mp3 players. Everyone had great things to say about the product. I have had nothing but problems. There was a problem with the internal memory when I purchased it. I was unable to utilize the entire 64mb of memory. After numerous calls to customer support, who got back to me 50% of the time, they finally had me send it in. They had if for a couple of weeks before I got it back They fixed the memory problem, but then I immediately started having different problems with the memory. It had fits and starts and then finally stopped playing music all together after a couple of weeks. After finally getting in contact with them again, they informed me it would be $100 to fix the problem since I had owned it for more than 90 days. I would rather spend another $160 and get a brand new Rio. So now I have a shiney $200 paper weight. Very disappointed with the product and service J Rod

Excellent Product--Long Playing Time,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
This unit is very sturdy, very convenient, and full of features. This MP3 player gives me the full features of a standard Walkman (do you remember Walkman's from the 1980's) in MP3 format. The price is superior to its competitors when you consider the features and functionality. But best of all when you purchase an additional 64MB Smart Media card, you will get two full hours of CD quality playing time....

My New Favorite Toy!,

This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
After reading every review I could find for the purchase of my first MP3 player, I chose the Rave 2200. It's terrific. Smaller than I expected, the sound quality is great. I love the added feature of the FM tuner which has very good reception. I use it at the health club and for rollerblading. It's easy to operate. I keep it in my pocket (with a safety pin to hold it in) and can change songs, volume etc. right through the material so I don't have to take it out. It took me a little while to figure out the software and get it loaded (I'm in my 40's after all!) but now I add/delete songs in minutes if the mood strikes me. I've used it daily for over a week and haven't gotten tired of the approximately 1 hour's worth of music it holds, although I've ordered a card for more memory for traveling. I changed to my Sony headphones because I don't like the earbuds and the sound it even better. Definitely the right choice! A gem!

Best Buy Ever,

I recently purchased the Rave 2200 series mp3 player. It was more than what I had expected. It super small, comes with a wired remote on ear bud head phones, it transfers very fast from the PC to Mp3, and its upgradeable with a Smart Media Card. I'm glad I picked this over the nomad II. The only down side to the rave is there is no back lit lcd screen and no belt clip. Guess you can't have it all.

Rave:2200 - Let the buyer beware!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
As an owner of a MP:Rave 2200 I found it to be a good MP3 player... up to a point. For me problems arose when I tried to use the Rave with Windows XP. My experience has been a disaster and until now it still does not work properly. What is even more frustrating is trying to get help on the problem from MP:MAN, SonicBlue and Sensory Science the creators and distributors of the MP:Rave. After months of sending E-mails I received only one response which was to ask for further details on the problem. The 2200 could be a great pleasure to use if only its creators were more customer focused. From my experience this is a sad commentary on a potentially great product and what I thought was a great company.

I did quite some research before acquiring a mp3 player, and not with opinions from Amazon.com only. Guided by many reviews, I opted for this Sensory Science Model. My comments: 1- If you are a long haul traveller trying to find an alternative for the nightmarish airplane entertainment system, FORGET IT. The airplane background noise is so disturbing that you will barely hear your music. Reading reviews for the Ravemp 2300 caused me to conclude the same happens with that model as well; 2- It is true you can record voice messages. It is a convenient facility if you are in a meeting and want to have a precise record of what was said. However, forget about trying to transfer the voice message to your PC or Laptop. Not only it takes forever, but the *wav resulting file is so big that it becomes prohibitive. It is quite cumbersome to upload as well. 3- Sometimes you have to push the USB cable so hard into the player that you are afraid you will break it. If the USB connection cannot be established, the player worths nothing; 4- For the remainder of the features, it is nice to have FM tunning and pre-setting, as well as listening your mp3 files at the quiteness of your living room, specially if you recorded from CD's with the bundled MatchBox software (you will also feel trapped to upgrade the software, a questionable attempt and a questionable result) BEAR WITH ME: IF YOU WANT JUST MUSIC, BUY A GOOD CD PLAYER, BURN YOUR OWN CD'S. IT IS BETTER, MUCH CHEAPER AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO GO TO ANY AGGRAVATIONS. GRADE: F-

Almost but not quite,

This review is from: Sensory Science Rave: MP 2200 MP3 Player (Electronics)
OK so i bought this last june and have loved it ever since. It has awsome sound quality with some good sony headphones and u can always turn on the FM. This would be a 5 star review if i was able to add on memory. My player would delete all the files i was trying to send into it after about 3 files. I was using a 64mb SanDisk card which is one of the best. Now i just have 64mb... o well its better then 32mb like some of the compitition. Its aluminum case feels very sturdy because i have dropped it a few times and have not lost any sound quality. Overall, if u have the bucks to get it, (try ebay like i did, i got it for $...) then get this player. If you want an awsome player with 128mb and u think ud use it all, check out the heftier Intel Pocket Concert.
