5.0 out of 5 stars The best MP3 Player!!
I've had a fairly long list of MP3 players: Rio 300+500, Nomad and Nomad II, Sony Memory Stick, 2 CD-MP3 Players and the raveMP2300..The raveMP2300 bests them all. Someone made a point that only 9 songs fit on a single disc. If you encode a 128kbps MP3 into a 64kbps WMA file, you get near-equal sound at half the file size. It sounds even better if you rip a WMA from...

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay CLEAR! I myself didnt believe the negative reviews!
The idea behind these products is comendable, but the product itself is horrible. When i got my MP2300, I was mesmerized, i fell in love with it immediately...it was the coolest thing. THEN, while playing a song it rolled off my chest and onto my soft couch...i was impressed cause it didnt skip. Before i knew it i couldnt play any song after that track. Since this company...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best MP3 Player!!, November 22, 2000

I've had a fairly long list of MP3 players: Rio 300+500, Nomad and Nomad II, Sony Memory Stick, 2 CD-MP3 Players and the raveMP2300..The raveMP2300 bests them all. Someone made a point that only 9 songs fit on a single disc. If you encode a 128kbps MP3 into a 64kbps WMA file, you get near-equal sound at half the file size. It sounds even better if you rip a WMA from the CD directly. The raveMP player is capable of playing WMAs, so I can fit near 75 minutes on a $10 disc. The sound quality is excellent, and if you get a pair of headphones with volume control, you will get a volume boost, even though the volume is comparable to other MP3 players to begin with.

Since this company filed for bankcruptcy I had to contact other users and google my way throught trying to figure this out. I must say, every user told me that this item is Zero shock proof, u tap it while its playing and its corrupt the read mechanism. You cannot add new disks, becauce the R/W mechnism is justs stuck and it damages further media. The company realised this flaw but since getting bought by SonicBlue has discontinued warranty.

I thought the negative reviews were just single cases, but they arent. IN FACT WHEN I FIRST got it i felt like blasting those other reviewers. Whether its a day or a month, sooner or later it will die. STAY CLEAR....stick with solid state memory for now. Hope this helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, February 23, 2002
This review is from: Sensory Science RaveMP 2300 MP3 Player (Electronics)
I bought this MP3 player online, and it's great. This has plenty of memory at a very inexpensive price. I only use WMAs, because they are half the size and still superb quality. This is an amazing product that will blow you away!
Pros:
inexpensive memory
backlit display
upgradable in the future
built in mic!
12 hours of music on one charge

Cons:
somewhat confusing to install (software)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Smartest Idea Since Sliced Bread, October 5, 2000
This review is from: Sensory Science RaveMP 2300 MP3 Player (Electronics)
I love listening to music and hate logging around a cd player so when I heard of this product using Iomega Click disks I was interested. They hold 40 minutes of music on each disk and I can use as many as I want. Smart media [costs more for] 32mb and for the same [amount of money] I can get 400Mb of storage with the click disks. I wish the volume was a little louder but I really love using this thing to listen to my music when I want.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised, March 19, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Sensory Science RaveMP 2300 MP3 Player (Electronics)
I received a Rave MP2300 as a gift. Though Sennheisen earphones are advertised as included this is not the case. Cheap earbuds come with the product. Though I registered this product online immediately the support representative will not discuss the poorly functioning earbuds without proof of purchase. Since this was a gift, I do not have proof of purchase and I am stuck with this inferior product. If this is an example of customer support I am not recommending this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST, December 17, 2001

Im kinda new to this whole mp3 thing but out of all the ones i've seen this is the best.
Some good things include sweet design, voice recording, inexpensive memory, a whole bunch of high tech things like calendar, phonebook, and clock. And its very easy to use.
I found only one flaw; the amount of memory you get as soon as you buy it is only about 18 songs(9 on each disk)but its not that big of a deal considering its only about 10$ a disk. other than that its definately top 5 material.

Dont belive these bad reviews. You can get this player for $40 on ebay, and it is great. First of all it will Never, Ever Skip. SEcond it IS durrable I use mine while on my treadmill and have droped it many times. It plays perfect still. The trick is so songs dont cut out is you need to wait a few seconds before unplugging it from the computer. The volume is fine unless you enjoy being deaf! The screen is easyer to read then the small Mp3 players made today.

2.0 out of 5 stars nice but big and low sound, June 23, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Sensory Science RaveMP 2300 MP3 Player (Electronics)
this a good mp3 but it is very big and ways more than my cd player. after a little time the clik disks get annoying because they dont hold that many songs each{about 9 each}so you have to get more and they r annoying to hold. also the volume cannot go high at all. the sound quality is very good and the files download on to it very fast.you also can see the song u r listin' to on the screen.i would noy recomend it for the sake of your $
