Even if you aren't into the whole "luxury fibers" thing, even if you are a "non standard size", and even if your tastes run more classic and conservative than most, you will find MANY gorgeous items to knit in this book.

Classic, feminine, beautiful, wearable to work if one desires, functional designs fill the pages. There isn't a single item in here about which I thought, "hmmm - maybe if I were 20 years younger/20 pounds lighter/or 20 times hotter, I might wear that." And even my knitting daughter who IS younger lighter/hotter by factors of 20 found the designs gorgeous and desirable, too. THe layout of the book is lovely, patterns flow right from the gorgeous photos, and SO Much information is given, not only on yarn and needles and gauge, but also on what size was photographed, how much ease the piece was designed around, and so on, which will make choosing a size a snap, and a properly fitting garment the result of your time investment.

If you love beautiful knitwear design, you need this book. It's that simple.

This book provides a great selection of versatile but wearable knits. Selecting the first project will be difficult. The designs are classic with just enough flair or extras that add significantly to their appeal. This is a wonderful addition to the my knitting library.

This book just arrived a few days ago and I'm so excited about it. I have left it on my coffee table and I keep picking it up to look through all the gorgeous patterns. There are 25 items in the book, and only 3 or 4 that I likely won't make. Absolutely stunning patterns and the fashions are really current and sexy.

I still consider myself a novice - have only been knitting for a year and I'm just getting started with more difficult pieces. This book is not for beginners, but there is a range of difficulty to the patterns, so you can absolutely progress through it, starting with something a little simpler like the shrug or a wrap and working your way up to the adorable dresses and lacework.

More time than not lately new knitting books don't live up to there names, this is certainly not the case with this title. There are few patterns that I wouldn't be very happy to knit and to wear. I have only started one pattern, the lily of the valley gloves. I fell in love with them the first time I saw them.

I bought this book together with Sensual Crochet, and it does not disappoint. All the styles are simply gorgeous! I only gave the book 4 stars because I haven't started any projects yet and don't know if there are technical errors. However, do pick this up if you want beautiful, fashionable, and sophisticated knits. The book is also very well styled so you get a good look at how the garments fit the body.

I buy a lot of knitting books---probably too many. Usually there's a pattern or two worth knitting, and that's enough.

In this book, I'd say there's a pattern or two NOT worth knitting. Everything else is an absolute gem. I've had the book three months and I'm already knitting two sweaters from it, the striking Transparency and the classic Balloon-Sleeve Jacket (which appears on the cover).

This book should be on the shelf of any sweater knitter, especially, and anyone who wants to knit sweaters. Many of the designs are simple, but not the kind of "big-needle-fast-knit-crap" found in all too many books these days. These are thoughtful designs with shaping and drape to flatter most figures. Most are classics; a few are fashion-forward. Most are mid-weight (worsted, DK, Aran), some are lighter for a less bulky fit.

Do yourself a favor and at least flip through this book, or check it out on Ravelry. I think you'll find you can't wait to acquire a copy.

I agree that the styles presented in the book are stunning and beautiful. However I can only give it 2 stars because there are just way too many errors. The first sweater I made, the seeded cables cardigan, the entire pattern was practically rewritten because the pattern contained so many errors. So instead of working from the book I ended up with about seven pages of errors printed out from the internet. Even the yarn amounts and sizes were wrong so make sure you download the corrections before shelling out the money for the yarn so you be sure you're getting the right amount. Then I gave my mom the book. She wanted to make the lace panel cami and cardigan set. After spending numerous hours trying to figure out why nothing was coming out right she realized that this pattern also had pages and pages of corrections as well. I think the sweaters are beautiful and I realize that knitting patterns often have corrections, but I just think that there is no excuse for a book to have this many errors. Didn't anyone edit this or check for errors before going to print? I would recommend the book for the beautiful styles but definitely make sure you download all the corrections before actually trying to make anything from it (or even before purchasing yarn to make anything from it).

The designs in this book are gorgeous-- simple, understated and classy. The unique silhouettes and lines are really lovely-- this is the first knitting book that I simply had to have, after flipping through in the book store.

The only draw back is the errors in some of the patterns... some of them aren't even explained by the errata on the book's webpage. But aside from that, great patterns-- none of which are a bore!

I really love this book. For the price, I can't think of a better set of patterns. I plan on making practically everything in the book and the yarns chosen are really sumptuous. BUT, make sure you do your research online and get all the information on the pattern errors because there have been a lot of corrections released. This book is exactly what it advertises -- an interesting assortment of attractive and feminine knit patterns. It's well laid out and easy to read. The patterns appear to be well-written, though I have no yet knit very many of them. The pictures are very good and give a good idea of what the finished knit will look like from several angles in most cases.
