Missing Pieces,
By JT Johns "JT" (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sensual Winds (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this and felt like there were pieces missing from this story. It seemed that there were times when the plot jumped from one point to the next without any transition. Plus, the couple from the boat really detracted from the story line--that part did not make any sense, nor did it in any way tie in to the main story. Also, what kind of experienced builder & Keys resident is he to not have his house boarded up properly BEFORE the storm?

Sensual Winds,

I have read all the Mother Nature Matchmaker series and I loved them all. I loved this story because a great romance happened despite the circumstances. Lucas was building his dream home for his fiance Emma but her assistant Doreen was the one talking to Lucas everyday with suggestions for the home. When Emma decides that her career was more important than her fiance Lucas, she sent Doreen to break the bad news to him. Doreen is in love with Lucas because she enjoyed their conversations plus the fact that he listened and remembered everything she has told him about herself and utilized the suggestions she made for the home he was building. Lucas realizes even before Doreen arrives that it was over between him and Emma and realizes that Dorren is the type of woman that he loves and needs in his life. After being stranded in Florida with the hurricane coming, they both discover what true love really is.

LUVED IT!!!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Sensual Winds (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was great from beginning to the end. This story is about Lucas McCoy and Doreen Fleming. Lucas's fiance sends her assistant to do her dirty work for her by breaking up with Lucas. Lucas and Doreen are caught in a hurricane and the attraction builds from there. I read this book in 7 hours because it was so good. I have read the whole mother nature matchmaker books. They are all great reads. I think this one was my favorite though.

CARMEN GREEN IS A GOOD WRITER THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK OF HERS THAT I'VE READ;HOWEVER, THE FACT THAT IT IS APART OF THE MATCHMAKER SERIES IS WHAT GOT MY INTEREST. LUCAS IS THE TYPE OF MAN I'M LOOKING FOR BECAUSE THE HOUSE HE BUILT SOUNDED AMAZING, SO FOR HIS LADY EMMA NOT TO APPRECIATE IT REALLY TICKED ME OFF AND THE FACT THAT SHE WOULD SEND HER ASSISTANT DOREEN DOWN TO BREAK-UP WITH HIM(REALLY?)I'M GLAD THAT LUCAS AND DOREEN WERE ABLE TO GET PAST ALL THEIR ISSUES TO START BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP. SHE'S JUST THE TYPE OF WOMAN HE NEEDS.

This was funny, entertaining and had me pulling for them as a couple. I would have liked to see the book surpass the week or so that it spanned, but I like how it was laid out. They didn't just meet then two days later fall in love. They knew each other, albeit through technology and the little problem called a fiancé, but I feel the development of the characters and the relationship was real. It's like, being attacked to a friends beau then all of a sudden that person became free. I could see this really happening in real life.
Again, I wish we could have had more time with the characters. See where they were really going. We all assume that they end up married with the five kids spoken of but I would have like it to have gone a little bit further than it went. I like the development with the Goodfellows. The point of that area in the book was to show her giving soul and how far he would go to make her happy. All in all I would and have recommend this book to people. It's a great read ad actually has me ready to buy Carmen's whole library. Till next time... Ms. Fayt

I am so pleased that this was the last book of this series, I read and usually love everything Brenda Jackson and Celeste Norfleet write but Carmen Green's contribution to the Mother Nature Matchmaker series is The Best. All through the series I couldn't wait to find out the outcome of Lucas' long distance romance. Doreen and Lucas are the perfect example of opposites attracting,Terrence and Stephen were more real as peripheral characters in this book than they were leads in their own books, and the hurricane acts as another character adding to the premise behind the story.

I am a fan of Carmen Green's books. She grabs your interest at the beginning and keep you moving to the end. The same holds true of this book. I am a native of Key West and yes, sometimes procrastination, denial, or whatever, means that we help others before we actually take care of our own home. Enjoyed reading about Key West and the Florida Keys.

This was a wonderful love story. Ms. Green did a much better job writing this story.
I like the way that the characters from the previous Mother Nature Matchmaker series were incorporated into this story. I love the chemistry of the characters. I like the underlining theme about helping others and loving your family (something you see a lot of in the south). This is the Carmen Green whom I fell in love with during the early Crawford series (now that is some Carmen green at her best!). This book is a keeper that I will defiantly reread for enjoyment. |
