4.0 out of 5 stars A History of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, November 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Sentinel for Health: A History of the Centers for Disease Control (Hardcover)
Etheridge's text tells an amazing tale of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from its inception during World War II to eradicate malaria in the American South to its present-day status as the leading authority on innumerable infectious diseases throughout the world. Through her writing, it is possible to understand how the CDC was created and evolved, subject not only to the need to respond to health problems across the globe, but also to political and domestic pressures from within.
