It's decent sized - plenty of space for my passport, birth certificate, social security card, and a few other things. It's not huge by any standards. I'd say you could comfortably fit two reams of paper in it (1000 sheets of copy paper). You can definitely fit your important papers, cash, credit cards and some jewels in there. I only have stuff for one person inside but there is plenty more room for more. One word of caution - this thing is HEAVY. Perhaps I'm a weakling, but I find this box to be very heavy. I assume that's the fire proofing but once you load it up, it gets even heavier. My only complaint is the weight but it's not that big of a deal. I have mine on the first floor in the coat closet by the front door - so if there's a fire it can be one of the last things I grab in case of an emergency. Having a fire box gives me peace of mind that everything is contained and it's a huge bonus that it's pink.
It's relatively lightweight...and easy to open, so not really anti-theft...this is more for "fire protection" than anything else. The only bummer about the safe is that to open and close the safe, you HAVE to use the key.
Not a deal-breaker, but I like safes that have a latch...which you can optionally lock or not. For some safes, you can close the safe without locking it...giving you fire/water protection, without having to lock it. The safe, won't stay closed, unless it's locked. So, while potentially more secure, let's face it, this safe is easily circumvented (watch Storage Wars for how to do that), but the color and size are perfect for my daughter to "practice".

It looks cute, being pink instead of black, but the locking mechanism failed so it's useless! I wasn't rough on it, it didn't get dropped, and I only accessed it a dozen times... Read morePublished 20 months ago by Heidi
This is a great safe. Its a little small on the inside to fit paperwork in. The papers don't fit in flat. I'm sure that's not a terrible deterrent for anyone. It's cute and strong.Published on September 20, 2013 by Jen
