Product Description

SENTRY Fiproguard MAX for Dogs topical flea and tick treatment contains the same veterinarian-recommended active ingredient, fipronil, found in Frontline brand products. But with Fiproguard MAX, the power of fipronil is maximized by adding a second active ingredient. The patent-pending combination of active ingredients starts to kill fleas and ticks in minutes, even faster than Frontline Plus. It works so fast, it stops reinfestation of fleas, ticks and chewing lice and maintains high efficacy for 30 days, protecting pets and homes. Frontline is a registered trademarks of Merial. Fiproguard MAX is not manufactured by or distributed by Merial In independent studies comparing the efficacy of the combination of ingredients in Fiproguard MAX to Frontline Plus, more fleas and ticks died within the first hour after application.

I have never had a problem with fleas or ticks in my area, so I have normally only ever bought a single dose of frontline or advantix to put on my dog when we go camping. HOWEVER this year, we found a tick in our yard, thankfully not on any of the dogs yet. I put this on my dogs about two weeks ago. I wasn't sure if it was working or not, dogs didn't have ticks but they never had before so I wasn't sure.

About a week ago I took my dogs for a walk in a wooded area. I found a tick crawling around on ME, so I'm sure the dogs had them, too. I had been checking them over a few days afterward for ticks and found nothing. Today, I found a dead, shriveled up tick in my dog's fur. That is enough for me to say that this product did what it was supposed to, killed the tick.

I would give it five stars, but application is a little gross and messy. With Frontline and Advantix, there will be a crusty spot in my dog's fur for a few days where I applied the product, with this it was a big crusty mess until I finally couldn't take it anymore and brushed it out.

As a former Frontline Plus user for many years I will have to say Sentry Fiproguard works just like Frontline but at a cheaper price, as long as you apply it by the directions which are the same as Frontline. Please note, that if your dog or cat is already infested with fleas, first try using Flea Dip first, wait 48 hours and then apply Sentry. Also, try using Cedar chips as bedding, fleas hate it. Sentry is great!

This product did stop the scratching I noticed on my dog (I presumed from fleas). And the price is better than Frontline. L H

Next time I'll buy Frontline first. I put on the first container as per instructions and nothing happened. Poor dog was still crawling with fleas. A week later I put on another container and it still didn't work. Waste of my money.
I finally had to go out and buy Frontline.

We haven't had any tic or flea problems while using Fipoguard. It is easy to use and has had no bad side effects. It doesn't burn my dog like another product did.
