Before You Apply Applying correctly starts with purchasing correctly at the store. Before purchasing, weigh your dog. Don't guess! It is important to know the exact weight of the pet to ensure you purchase the right product. At the store, be sure to buy the product for the right species. BE SURE to choose cat products for cats and dog products for dogs. These products are different formulations based on the species and weight of your pet and SHOULD NEVER be used interchangeably.

Do NOT treat with more than one pesticide product at a time.

Don't forget to consider your dog's age. ONLY use Fiproguard on dogs over 8 weeks of age.

Applying the Product
  • Remove product tubes from the package.
  • Separate one tube from the others.
  • Hold the tube with notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line.
  • Invert tube over dog and use open end to part your dog’s hair.
  • Squeeze tube firmly to apply all of the solution to the dog's skin from the back of the neck to a point midway between the neck and tail.

So I save lots of money by buying Fiproguard brand.

After the first application she was still covered in fleas a week later so I used nitenpyram capsules every 2 or 3 days to give her relief.

I have 2 small chihuahuas, and they've had flees for quite sometime; I've tried everything but the name brand flee products because of the price (too expensive), I've tried soaps, flee sprays, powders, collars, and other non-brand name drops like Hartz, and Adams... and none have worked, actually with the combined cash that I spent on each of these treatments I could have just purchased a brand name product that would have worked; but I didn't. I was about to purchase a brand name flee control, when I came across this brand, I had never heard of it, but I liked the review, so since it was pretty inexpensive compared to other brand names, I decided to give it a try, and WOW, I MUST SAY IT WORKS!! My dogs and I LOVE IT!! They no longer scratch, nor are they in any discomfort as they one were. I put the drops on them, and within a day or so I noticed that they no longer scratched!! I rarely write reviews, but I must give credit when credit is due, and felt extremely compelled to write this review and recommend this product to every pet lover experiencing a flee issue, in a budget. I'm stocking up, and am purchasing a second set of drops. Will buy again!!

I read the reviews and took a chance. Our new pup was polluted with fleas and I was at my wits end. In just a few short days my pup was flea free. A nice bath removed all traces of flea feces, a little sprinkle of Borax in the carpeting and we have a nice clean house and pup again. Wonderful product, works just as well as the brand name if administered correctly. Don't bathe your dog before or after treatment for a few days and apply to skin not fur, you AND the dog will be a happy camper!

Much cheaper version of Frontline and works just as well. I have used Frontline until now, tried this product and had no problems with it and it works great.

This product works well for my golden retriever. I live in the south where it's hot and sandy 6 months out of the year, which is a great environment for fleas. It works great, however, if your dog is already infested with fleas you will need to use a stronger medicine to get rid of them, maybe Comfortis or Frontline Plus. After your dog is free of fleas you can use this product to keep them away. I think some folks have been disappointed with this product because they are trying to use it to stop an existing flea infestation. I do recommend it as a great maintenance flea product if your dog currently has no signs of fleas.

If your dog does have fleas, treat your dog with a strong flea med and treat your house with this spray: Zodiac Carpet and Upholstery Aerosol Spray, 8-Ounce We had fleas in our carpet, hopping through the kitchen, and jumping in the canister of our vacuum. Yuck. I treated the dog with a Comfortis pill from the vet, gave him a flea bath, and bought a can of Zodiac. I bought the 16 oz. can. It says it covers 2,000 sq. ft., but I used the whole can on about 1,000 sq ft and it worked. Now keep in mind, it will not work in 24 hours. (Fleas have a life cycle and they will be living in your house in various stages of their cycle.) In a few days I noticed a decrease in fleas, and they continued to decrease over the next week and a half. So it took a total of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before they were all gone. And it was a glorious moment. Anyone who has dealt with a recurring flea problem knows what I mean. Try it.

We take our dogs out to a ranch a few times a year. In the past we've had some problems with ticks. We used to use BioSpot and we'd get home and notice they had big engorged ticks on them and have to carefully remove them. That stuff obviously was not working. We went out again this past weekend after switching to Fiproguard and the tick problem out there was MUCH worse than the last time. Unfortunately we had to put this stuff through a trial by fire. Our dogs got a lot of ticks on them and we'd pick them off when we saw them but missed a bunch. The next day we let them out of their kennels in the morning and there were dead ticks everywhere. They were all still small so it was obvious that they took a bite and then died. Not a single tick on all three of our dogs managed to dig in and start feeding. I had to give them a tick bath when we got home because a few were still crawling around in the fur and hadn't tried to dig in yet. If I had known the tick problem would be so bad I would have added some extra layers of protection to help prevent the ticks getting on them in the first place but I'm so grateful we switched to this product because it would have been an absolute nightmare without it. I'm completely satisfied that this product works as advertised!

Update: the tick bath I gave my dogs actually seemed to wash off the protection that the fipronil provided. So my advice if this happens to you is to not give them a bath but rather just try and pick the ticks off or use some sort of tick killer that doesn't require washing the skin.

I bought this to use on my puppy great dane and cats, (look up correct dosing online if splitting a tube between pets) this is safe for both (same active ingredient in both dog and cat formula, get a big dog size and split it) and so much cheaper than buying dog AND cat, and its the same stuff. Works as good as frontline, my one small issue is that all 3 of my animals are black and this left a crusty sticky white stripe on their back for a few days...on day 3 I brushed it out...all seems well, no fleas and have used it for 2 months. I guess the active ingredient is the same but something else is different. $14 for 3 months for all 3 animals is less than $2 a month per animal...great stuff that WORKS as well as frontline, much better than the hartz stuff you can get for the same price. Yes, you have to deal w an animal being a little sticky but to me its worth it bc Im not going to spend the money for frontline, even if I do split a tube between animals it was still a LOT more!!! TY for having this available at an awesome price!!!
