I bought a pair of these for $5 at a BigLots, because my other two sets of earbuds were both working out of only one side. I don't feel like spending an exorbitant amount of money on a set either, so I was willing to gamble on the $5 pair being serviceable. I'd gotten a few others that had horribly tinny sound, and these had a surprisingly deep amount of sound. Moreover, they dampen external sound incredibly for such a cheap set, better than any pair I've ever used! (Maybe Bose has them beat, but for a fraction of the cost, these are great). In fact, if I had to complain, it's that they block sound perhaps too well (I like to have some sense of my surroundings while listening (usually to audio-books). They definitely make you feel removed from society.

If these last relatively well, I'll definitely consider buying another pair!

I'm not even going to bother to make this eloquent. Here's a list of reasons these earbuds suck:

1. Listed as having "in-line volume control". Doesn't.
2. If you even lightly brush the metallic cover of the plug while it's plugged into the jack of your device, you'll get static.
3. Audio on the right far outweighs audio on the left. Like listening to a radio with your right hear and a ham sandwich with your left.
4. At least I think I have the left and right the proper way 'round, since there are no indicators on the buds as to which one is for which ear. Maybe this is a new thing you kids are doing and I'm not hip enough to get it.
5. Audio on both sides sounds as though the earbuds have somehow re-routed the audio of your device through a roaming cellphone to a switchboard in New Dheli and then played across the Pacific over a Vietnam-era PA-system stuffed liberally with marshmallows.
6. They're so ass-heavy that they can only be kept in place with a fierce shove into the ear canal, thus suction-cupping them into your ear until your wracking sobs of disappointment eventually shake them loose, when they fall into your lap and fracture your pelvis.
7. The package is harder to open than the legs of an Amish virgin. Little did I know, as I hacked my way in with a carving knife and my teeth, that the packaging was the best part of this product, hardworking, honest, and trying to protect me from things that would make me legitimately consider deafening myself with chopsticks.
8. Changing the sizes of the covers would be a handy feature if putting them on didn't require the careful training of a 30-year career in microsurgery.

Reasons why these earbuds don't suck:

1. They arrived quickly.
2. They're pretty.
3. The case they come with is just about the perfect size to discreetly carry a condom in when you've thrown these earbuds in the bin and gone out to comfort yourself in the arms of a stranger.

These ear buds fit my ears snuggly, and just in case have another set of smaller buds if needed. These things have QUALITY stereo sound. It's amazing for $5 at Big Lots! The best thing since sliced bread honestly. I've had two pairs already. I snapped the bud off one of my pairs, and went and got another set immediately for $5! They handle bass so well, you can feel the weight in the bud itself. Great product, and recommended for sure.

Not bad! I bought a pair of $5 JVC-HAF10 earphones couple years back and didn't like the "low treble, low bass" quality but these Sentry MetaliX are not much better. (sigh). I guess I can't buy good earphones for less than $10 these days.

Pros:
No buzz sound (regardless of how loud the volume is, which beats the JVC)
Good noise reduction (not completely but for $5, this is superb!)
Comes with a free padded carrying bag and extra pair of rubber cover

Cons:
Very monotone, no stereo at all (worse than the JVC)
One of the bud is louder than the other so the sound is unbalanced

This is not a complaint! For $5, my expectations isn't high to begin with. This review is only based on my opinion and comparison to other earphones I have used. I may have to invest on a really good pair of earphones next time. I'm still not satisfied with any of these low budget earphones (for $5, I used to buy panasonic and sony 10 years back). So far, my favorite is the Audio Technica (yes, better than Sony). When listening to a classical orchestra, you can tell the difference between the brass, the woodwind and the bass family.

I found a pair of these earbuds on sale at a local store, and bought them for myself as a Christmas present. I have never been more impressed by a pair of earbuds. The clarity, even at extremely high volumes, is amazing. The bass response is phenomenal. At high volumes, one would wonder why the bass is not shaking the entire room.

The buds came with two pairs of rubber inserts, so smaller ones can be used for smaller ears. They are comfortable enough to fall asleep wearing them, and snug enough to be noise-canceling at low volumes.

They are well worth the price, and much more comfortable than higher-priced earbuds.

I usually don't write reviews, but I was very disappointed with my ear buds. It is horribly unbalanced. I have to constantly adjust the sound flowing through each ear every time I wear them. I'm annoyed and very disappointed.

Pros: It came with a little, I mean *little*, bag for travel. The ear buds themselves are metal. It came with extra cushions.

Cons: The cushions came of when I took the ear buds out. It's a pain to put the cushions back on. The cord is kind of short. There isn't that much bass. I accidentally ordered another pair, and there was too much bass. Same issue with the cushions. The *little* travel case that came with it ripped when I tried to put the ear buds inside. There is more cordage and ear bud than there is room in the case.

Other thoughts: Don't buy these. One of the ear buds died about 3 weeks after I got them. I bought a pair of Razer Morays. SO much better. Those came with a case that can actually hold the ear buds. It has a zipper, not a little plastic button. Hope this review helps you in your quest to find ear buds. Happy shopping!
