Hate the key pad.,

I've had this safe for about 6 months and just had to take the time to write a review. I never to this, but had to, because I always have a problem opening this safe. I have to repeat the combination at least three or four times before it will open. I just hope I don't have to use a blow torch some day.
If you must get a Sentry Safe, stay away from the electronic key pad variety.

This safe is just the perfect sized safe for household usage. The only complaint is that the dial and electronics are housed in a plastic case. I wonder just how fire safe this will be? How will this dial stand up to years being kicked around in a closet?

Don't buy the electronic version,
This review is from: Sentry OA5848 2-Cubic Feet Electronic Tubular Key Fire Safe, 211-Pound, Black/Gunmetal Gray (Tools & Home Improvement)
The safe is a great size and works well for a small office; however, the electronic keypad is a problem. After a year, we abandoned using the electronic keypad because of issues and resorted to using a key. Unfortunately, we did not take the batteries out. The keypad was hit, the rods came up, the keypad cover came off (constant problem) and a wire came loose. Now we can't get the rods back in to use the safe at all!
