This safe is great for keeping valuable items out of easy reach of the unwanted people.

I was looking for a safe that my son could use in his dorm room to store his wallet, watch, and other small valuables and this fit the bill.

As others have posted, anyone intent on opening this box can do it with a screwdriver and/or a hammer easily.

I don't usually write reviews, but seeing as how I purchased this safe less than three weeks ago and am currently online looking for a different one I feel the need to put my two cents in. The other one star reviewer has it completely right, this safe is not secure in the slightest. The "Steel construction" is a sad excuse for metal, the lock is cheap, and the safe was broken into within a week of use. A simple household tool will not only allow full access to your items but also damage the safe beyond use.
If you are interested in this safe as a visual deterrant and not to actually keep your items protected then go ahead and purchase it. Otherwise, I'd suggest you save your money and buy something more secure.

I see a lot of negative comments about how poor the quality is. It's less than $20. What do people expect out of $20? Central bank grade safe?

I have a few of these. In fact, I am going to buy another one. I use them to keep cash and small hand guns at home and in my office, so they are not laying around loose. The safe is then stored in lockable drawers. It serves the purpose. It works, and it works all the time. I never had any problem with opening and closing any of them.

The combo wheels are a little stiff, but I find that by rolling the numbers forward, they move quite easily. Moving the numbers backward can be stiff.

And yes the numbers are small, but readable. And if one can't assume the Z looking figure means 2, when it comes after 1 and before 3, then it's not a lock issue, it's an IQ issue.

I give this 5 stars because for $20, this product is "priced right."

We got this for my Dad who is in Assisted Living and wanted to keep a few dollars cash in his room. Since there are no locks on the doors, we were always trying to hide the money in dresser drawers since anyone can walk in the room when he's not there. This safe worked great because I can attach it to the leg of his computer table and it sits up on top of the table and it's not really noticeable. It's easy for him to access and we were able to program a code he can remember and he doesn't have to look for a key. It's large enough to hold his money and a small item but it's just the perfect size for him. Would highly recommend.

The metal box is well-constructed, and I like that I can change and set the combination easily. I do not like the very-thin, vacuum-formed liner that looks like it could be easily smashed, cracked, or otherwise crushed. I also did not like that the tether cable could not be permanently attached (as designed). My intended use was to be a safe place to stash extra cash for making change in a vendor booth at a festival, but the loose tether falls out too easily when the box is open, making it very challenging and unsafe to try and open the box, make change, keep an eye on your surroundings, AND keep the tether in place when closing the box back. I will probably try to hack the box so that the tether is permanent.

Perfect size for a 380 pistol. Absolutely no bigger. I can leave my credit cards that I seldom use and a very small pistol. It fits under the seat. It's a very good solid quality at a very good price. Prompt delivery.

I don't know if I'd label it a safe.
Just a little better then Tupperware, but I feel better having a handgun in it then out in the open with young kids around. Don't expect much from the feel of the combo lock quality. My gym locker lock feels better! Probably worth < $10.00.

As my only gun or valuable safe I'd definitely spend a few bucks more for their waterproof/fire resistant models. They are MUCH better!

The lock on the box is not very secure. There is a tang that sticks down from the lid which mates with a slot on the bottom section of the box. If you bend it slightly so that it engages in the slot without interference, one can then pull on the lid and open the box even when locked. Furthermore, if one presses hard on the lid, the box can be opened even though it is "locked". Nice concept but short on execution.

This item could be broken into easily with a screwdriver or a hammer. Both the metal case and the lock dents easily. Waste of money for my needs.
