I was worried after reading the other review that you would need the Sentry sleeves to store DVD's, but after looking at the specs and measuring my DVD's in their case I could tell that the sleeves were not needed. I do family video editing on a computer in another room and wanted to store the finished DVD's near the living room DVD player in a safe but easy to access way. The front nob turns to secure the safe closed without requiring me to lock it shut. DVD's or CD's in their standard jewel case fit inside the safe with the plastic tray inside.

I did notice that Sentry does sell more sleeves on their own website, but I don't have that many to store yet.

I have now purchased 3 of these & I am very happy with them. I currently have 25+ machines inside my office & 6 remote users, with more computers being added all the time. Not only does this safe help me to organize their software(which I needed) but I know the software is safe in the event of a disaster. Another cool plus is that they fit on my book shelf. The only con or negative is that the hanging file cd/dvd holders dont slide easily. They stick.

Don't think you're going to find additional sleeves online:

1) Search "hanging sleeves" for CD/DVD and you'll find products that WON'T FIT this unit (at least the TekNmotion TM-MGRFL100A don't, and every other photo I can find online, such as Atlantic 82504665 Executive Hardcase Sleeves for 390-Capacity Hardcase looks the same).
2) SentrySafe doesn't sell them online (I looked on sentrysafe.com, carefully).
3) The owner's manual doesn't list replacement parts.
4) Finally I tried phoning their customer support number. After waiting 25 minutes to speak to an agent, I was informed that additional sleeves can NOT be purchased from their website, can ONLY be purchased by phone, at a cost of _ONE_DOLLAR_APIECE_! Roughly 5x the cost of the sleeves that almost but don't quite fit. The customer support agent had nothing to offer than to convey my complaint to parties unknown.

So I'm stuck with this unit (with propped up paper sleeves inside), but once I outgrow it I'll definitely be looking for some other manufacturer.

Caveat emptor!

I have had this safe for awhile. I use it to safeguard my photos on CD. We live full time in our RV and I didn't have room for boxes and boxes of photos. So, I scanned our photos to disc and keep them here. I also store my flash drives in it. I have not had a fire or water disaster so I can't comment on how it holds up. It is not that heavy and doesn't come with anything to tie it down but I not using it for anti-theft. Good idea to also have your files backed up on-line with Amazon or other service. I am very happy with this product.

Received the product and am happy with it.
However, the instructions were not for the item I received. The instructions were the Data Storage Chest with USB connection. PLus what was very interesting, the instructions were inside the safe. However on the front of the instructions in large bold letters it states "IMPORTANT TO access your keys and other important information turn knob to the left to open."

Now I am wondering if this was a returned item where somone got the instructions mixed up.

My first impression when I received this safe was that it was bigger than expected. You're not going to be able to keep this in your desk drawer or grab the whole thing with only one hand. However, you can easily lift the lid with just your fingers if the safe's already on top of your desk.

This is a solidly built unit. Even the hinge at the back is thick. The lid opens and closes very smoothly, although turning the knob to lock it is a little less smooth. The lid closes into place with a solid thud. There's a soft gasket in between that I assume is for the water-tightness.

I've very pleased with this purchase. My only complaints are that I wish fireproof/waterproof safes didn't cost so much and that Sentry wouldn't advertise their company name so loudly on the front of it.

Good solid heavy safe with lots of room. I can fill it up with slim DVD/CD cases also room on the side of the plastic cage for flash drives. Fits LTO tapes as well, but only a few since they are pretty big. Round lock on the front seems a bit flimsy but I really don't lock it with a key anyway. Also only comes with a few plastic cd sleeves, but you can use slimline cd cases.

WHEN SENTRY IS CONTACTED THEY WILL SEND YOU TO AN OFFICE SUPPLY STORE. SENTRY WILL NOT TELL YOU WHERE THEY PURCHASE SLEEVES. CONTACT THEY'RE REP. THEY ARE NO HELP AT ALL AND WILL NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION, PROMISE TO RETURN CALL, THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN. THESE ARE HANGING SLEEVES BUILT TO THEY'RE SPEC'S. GENERIC SLEEVES WILL NOT FIT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY I DID AND THREW AWAY 100 SLEEVES. AMAZON DID CREDIT ME BACK 10% ON PURCHASE. THIS SAFE IS A WASTE OF MONEY!
