This is a very nice design, both functionally and aesthetically. You really appreciate it in blustery conditions, like walking down 57th street with a cold Wester in your face. Your fellow sidewalk users will appreciate it too, because you will not be poking their eyes out the way you do with regular umbrellas. The only criticism I can offer is that it requires two hands to open, and that it is somewhat awkward to furl.
There must be some problem with the US distribution, since these are hard to find (Macy's has then in NYC). You will not regret owning one. Cheap umbrellas are no bargain.

It's amazing in the wind. My only minor complaint is that it's a bit narrow, leading to wet elbows.

I have no idea what the "fragile" or "hard to use" comments are about.

Got this for Christmas. Most solid umbrella I've ever owned, and it's very easy to operate.
