5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! Well Written!
This book was Hilarious! It was also very cool how she divided chapters between the "Nice" Rachel and the "Mean" Rachel.I not exactly the biggest Rachel fan but I have to say this is a very fine peice of Animorph work.Highly recomended!

I recommend this book to everyone. It's about when Rachel morphs a starfish to find an earring when all of the sudden she gets snapped in half. When she demorphs there's 2 of her and the "twins" start to cause trouble and the animorphs don't know what to do about it.

At first I thought I though KA had gotten the worst ghost writer ever.
Then I realized she was a freakin genius. Or they were. Or whatever.
This book is TOTALLY awesome. Insane, hilarious and also really interesting. One of my favorite Animorphs ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of My Favorite Animorphs books, January 18, 2007
This review is from: The Separation (Animorphs #32) (Mass Market Paperback)
In this book Rachel is accidently divided into the two different sides of her personality-sweet, timid, and strategizing Nice Rachel, and violent, short tempered, and reckless Mean Rachel. The timing couldn't be worse as her friends have a big emergency on hand and neither Rachel is fit for any sort of fight, (Nice Rachel is practically afraid of her own shadow and over analizes every step of everything and Mean Rachel is out of control, not to mention incapable of stealth or planning). So while facing a huge emergency the Animorphs have to find a way to get the two personalities to mix into the original Rachel. Mean Rachel may be a little dark for the intended audience, but overall the book is great as it shows that even Rachel who puts up a fearless and brave front, has a vulnerable side and fears like everyone else. You don't often see the "evil-twin" scenario where the "twin" is actually part of the same person and Applegate did well presenting this situation.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Rachel Book!, March 10, 2002
By
This review is from: The Separation (Animorphs #32) (Mass Market Paperback)
The Separation, Animorphs # 32, could be called the best Rachel book. Well, at least that's what I call it. Rachel, after morphing a starfish, is split into two Rachels . . . . and the only problem with that is that one Rachel is an all out, cowardly wimp, and the other Rachel is a ... reckless, er, beast, I'll call her. This gives the Animorphs even more problems to deal with, on top of finding the Yeerks so-called new technology, the Anti-Morphing Ray . . . . a must-read!

This review is from: The Separation (Animorphs #32) (Mass Market Paperback)
"The Separation" is a Rachel book that explores the duality of her character. It has a clever scenario (being cut in half as a starfish and then morphing back as two Rachels). Split into "Nice Rachel" and "Mean Rachel," the character of Rachel is split into polar attributes. One is wimpy, timid, and scatterbrained, the other is truculent, violent, and determined. But the author does a decent job with going beyond the obvious in these two Rachels. "Nice Rachel" retains duty and long-term thinking, while "Mean Rachel" has courage and short-term action.

What I mainly liked about this book was its humor. The author exaggerates and plays with the opposite personalities, seeing more of the character and thought-processes in the diction of the narration than in any other book. I found the book to be funny, but I suppose it has little contribution to the series as a whole.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Rachels?, November 7, 2003
By A Customer
Two Rachels? Like I said, Rachel's newest morph gets her cut in half, one mean Rachel andone nice Rachel. Mean Rachel wants to be leader or kill all the Animorphs and wimpy/nice Rachel doesn't want to morph or go on a mission. (One more thing, Mean Rachel does not want to morph back to regular old Rachel). Will The Animorphs be able to get the two Rachels back together or not ? Find out in The Separation.

I love this book just love all the other animorph books. It was strage to think those two totaly different people make up the Rachel we all know and love. There was never a dull moment and parts were even humorous. Over all this was another awesome book to add to my collection of animorphs.
