4.0 out of 5 stars Super Profile - Jaguar, November 13, 2009
By
In the 1980's, Haynes Publishing group in England came out with a series of books on European planes sometimes overlooked in the American market. This work on the Sepecat Jaguar is one of those.

The Jaguar is a British/French plane created to give ground support for the troops, an alternative to the very expensive US planes. Only 543 were ever built, but it served well for over 30 years, which is a great testimony to the solid design of this versatile ground attack plane.

The book is dated, which is why only four stars, but it is comprehensive and informative for its time. The narrative is good, gives the history of the creation of this plane, its use. Plenty of B&W photos, some color shots, line drawings and statistics. It is similar in content and scope to the Aircraft in Action Series of books.

I recommend this book (if you can find it) for those interested in adding to your aviation collection, buffs of European planes, a modeler making an older version of the Jaguar. There are more modern, updated books now available, but they are more expensive as well.
