I was concerned that this wouldn't work or would be very noisy. I was pleasantly surprised to set it up for a party filled with caramel and have it work really well. Everyone enjoyed it and it was an event for the party itself.

Be careful when comparison shopping this item. This one does NOT include chocolate, others do. The box comes with a place for chocolate but you'll notice the description does not include chocolate.

I bought this cautiously after reading Amazon reviews. I had never even seen a chocolate fountain before, but the doctor I worked for wanted to have 2 going for a Ladies' Nite he was hosting at his clinic. Everything went without a hitch and they were the focal point of the party.

My biggest concerns after reading the reviews was that it wouldn't work, or that it wouldn't work right, or that it would be hard to clean. However, I found the instructions very, very clear and simply followed them to a "T". The instructions aren't hard, long or really detailed, and they seem to be written to take care of any potential problems beforehand.

From this experience, I will tell other novice users a couple things I learned that aren't in the manual that may have contributed to this being such a positive experience. First, I bought the Just Melt It fondue that is specifically made for chocolate fountains. I melted the chocolate in the tubs they came in, and I preheated the units (there's a switch for the heat and a switch to turn the auger to make the fountain work and I just turned the "heat" switch on) for 5-10 minutes before putting in the melted chocolate. Second, I kept the bottom basin of the fountain fairly full and made sure I only put in warm chocolate. Third, for cleanup, since the party ended late, I put the top assembly in a garbage bag, dumped out the remaining chocolate of the bottom and wiped out the basin fairly well with dry paper towels. The next morning, I ran hot sudsy water into my sink and put the auger, tube, and other plastic parts into it and let them soak for 5 minutes or so. Most of the hardened chocolate melted off, and when I swished the parts in the water, the more came off. Then I drained the sink and ran more hot sudsy water into it and the parts got most of remaining the oil layer off. I used a cotton swab for 4 areas, and then put them into the dishwasher to sanitize. I don't even think I would have needed the second wash if it hadn't hardened on. For the basins, since you can't submerge them, I put a cup of the hot sudsy water into them and washed well.

Since many of the negative reviews seem to be older, perhaps this product had a bad instruction manual then or was designed differently. However, I felt that everything was pretty straightforward and since I used two of them all evening and got the same result, I would recommend this unit.

Shipping was lightning fast!! The fountain is lovely, but I have not had an opportunity to test it because, as others have stated, this model does not come with chocolate, (despite the claim to the contrary in the item description). In fact, the box it comes in clearly states on it: "Chocolate Not Included." Apparently one reviewer was lucky enough to receive chocolate with his order, but based on the recent reviews, there is only a one in four chance that yours will. It's not worth returning the fountain, but if your decision to buy this product is based on the chocolate being included- you will likely be disappointed when it arrives. Still a great bargain as compared to department store pricing!!!

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SONS UPCOMMING WEDDING. WHEN IT ARRIVED THERE WAS NO CHOCOLATE BUT WHEN I CALLED THEY WERE SO GOOD AND TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE FOUNTAIN WORKED GREAT AND WAS BEAUTIFUL.... I LOVE YOU AMAZON!!! THANKS

I purchased this fountain for my daughter's 16th birthday party...and wasn't disappointed at all. It was a huge hit with the teenagers. And it was very easy to clean up afterwards. Definitely impressed. We'll be using it many more times, I'm sure!

Worse thing I ever bought on Amazon, never worked the right way. It did heat up but the chocolate never flowed up as it shows on the box or claims it doesn't. Would be great if Amamzon returned my money.

I purchased this fountain to use at my daughter's baby shower and I have to say I was very impressed with the ease of use. I thought I was going to have to really mess with it to get it all working properly. However, the fountain works just as stated in the description. Very easy and simple. It's very quiet and works the first time. You may have to turn it on and off once or twice to purge the air out and get the cascading flow of the chocolate. I ordered my chocolate from [...]. I ordered "Just Melt It" because it has no allergens and no added oil. You just heat up the fountain for about 5 minutes, melt the chocolate in the bin it comes in and pour it into the fountain...turn it on...and it just works! I would recommend spending the few extra dollars it costs for this fountain...it's money well spent.

Only reason I gave a 4 out of 5 is cleanup can be a tad messy and you you have to use a toothpick to get into some spots on the tube but it may be easier then with some cheaper models...it's not too bad just begin cleaning as soon as you turn the heat off so the chocolate doesn't begin to harden in the fountain.

WE HAD 2 FOUNTAINS GOING AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION ONE WITH CHOCOLATE AND ONE WITH CHEESE AND THE BOTH WORKED AND LOOKED WOUNDERFUL. I HAVE 2 MORE WEDDINGS THAT I WILL USE THIS ON AND FOUND IT BETTER THAN RENTING, YOU CAN ALSO USE IT FOR A BBQ COOK OUT!!!!WHICH WILL BE THIS SPRING!!!

My Sephra Fondue Fountain worked just as advertised. Its operation was very quiet and the fountain provided an even flow of chocolate for my guests to enjoy. I used Hershey's chocolate bars and added sufficient milk,a little at a time, to achieve the right consistency......it was so yummy and easy to prepare. The left over chocolate is now in the freezer ready for my next event. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

I bought this for my daughter's graduation party. It was a HUGE hit, worked beautifully and was very easy to set up and use. Read the directions on getting the air out of it (very simple - turn it off and then back on a time or two) to make the chocolate flow smoothly. I used the Sephra chocolate in it also which was very good. We started with two bags (4 lbs.) and added one more during the party. We washed it as soon as we turned it off and got the extra chocolate out. I would DEFINITELY recommnend this chocolate fountain and the Sephra chocolate!
