Editorial Reviews

New York City, September 11, 2001. The morning everything changed. Ten years after the World Trade Center attacks, HISTORY presents the SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL COLLECTOR S EDITION, a collection of specials that document a day none of us will ever forget. The collection includes: the Emmy-Award winning 102 Minutes That Changed America, an intensely personal perspective of the tragedy as it was experienced by people around New York... Hotel Ground Zero, the incredible tale of the 940 tourists, visitors and staff in the Marriott WTC Hotel, located beneath and between the Twin Towers... The Miracle of Stairway B, the story of 12 firefighters, three office workers, and a Port Authority police officer who survived the collapse of the North Tower... The Day the Towers Fell, a riveting special that reveals the never-before-told stories of eyewitnesses, including amateur and professional photographers, caught in the horror of the World Trade Center tragedy.

BONUS FEATURES: I-Witness to 9/11 a remarkable short film companion piece to 102 Minutes That Changed America

DISC 1: 102 Minutes That Changed America
DISC 2: Hotel Ground Zero / The Miracle of Stairway B / The Day the Towers Fell

5.0 out of 5 stars Edge of Your Seat Reality!!! September 28, 2011

I ordered this not knowing what to expect. It's absolutely riveting, not so much because the horror of 9/11 was pretty compelling in and of itself, but because it is all first person eyewitness accounts of the day. There are no news reporters (except those who are roaming around like everyone else trying to figure out what the hell is going on), no experts, no blowhards. There are simply people on the street and in their apartments witnessing the most horrific event of their lives. It is hands-down the most nail-biting documentary on 9/11 I've seen, and I've seen a few! Witness the event through the eyes of these damaged souls for yourself. But I warn you that some of it is difficult to take.

5.0 out of 5 stars September 11th: Memorial Edition November 13, 2011
History's September 11th Memorial Edition contains several powerful and well-made documentaries--particularly 102 Minutes That Changed America, which may be the finest film yet made about that horrible day. And yet the original question still remains: why would we want to subject ourselves to them? After careful consideration, the answer may be in the visceral way that 102 Minutes affects its viewers--it is so harrowing to watch that it shakes us up, which may be exactly what we need at this point, not out of some lip service loyalty to the notion of "never forget", but out of a necessity to simply feel something that is recognizable and human, and thus separated from slogans and politics and fear-mongering and war and xenophobia and hate and paranoia and conspiracy theories and "truth." Too often in the past decade, we have allowed September 11th to become an abstraction. In the best of these films, it is anything but--it is real, and present, and terrifying.

Everyone remembers where they were when Kennedy was shot and they remember where they were on 9/11 ... but time goes by and details start to fade and we need to remember

5.0 out of 5 stars Great selection of documentaries October 14, 2012
Verified Purchase
This DVD contains several great documentaries in one collection. Uncut, good quality. For the price, it's probably one of the best compilations out there. Particularly interesting is Hotel Ground Zero, about the less talked-about Marriott Hotel which sat between the twin towers and those that were inside. We thought this DVD was very informative and interesting.

It was very scary ....it really hit home and made you pray it NEVER happens again. The people who filmed it had the guts to it the raw emotion down on film. I'll keep this dvd for as long as I live.
