Being a resident of Colorado, this show in particular has a aura of significance unlike any other show that I have ever been present at. This was my second SCI show, and it was one for the ages. STS9 opened up for SCI, and they ignited a flame that would soon turn into a raging inferno after SCI took the stage. Starting with the seldom played "Tinder Box," and ending with an encore version of "On the Road," this show was truly epic. I had for eight years been under the impression that Johnny Cash had passed away the night before the show, and hence the ode to him with the playing of "Ring of Fire," but he didn't die until a week later, so IDK. For the first set of this show, my two friends and I were in the middle of the amphitheatre, but during the first set intermission, we spotted a member of security, who was also a security guard at Greeley Central High School, the school we had all graduated from. Without hesitation, he asked us if we wanted to move to the front row, with the only drawback being we had to stand the rest of the show. So, yea, since we didn't plan on sitting down for a minute anyways, we scurried to the front of Red Rocks, and got treated to the rest of the show within shouting distance of the band. The closing with STS9 is great, and this show had a vibe that was completely all its own, it was special to be there.
