Ellen has written and published many fiction and nonfiction books for children. She is also the author of the award-winning Turn of the Century (Charlesbridge, 1998) and Cinder Edna (Lothrop, Lee and Shephard, 1994).

Ellen is a full-time freelance writer. She lives in California with her Miniature Schnauzer, Bailey. She volunteers in her community and works at the local library one day per week. She writes almost every day.

This book gives a very real flavor for the transitional time of Setember. From the feeling of new shoes, bookbags and backpacks of the first day of school. To the taste of fresh crisp apples you will reallly feel this time of the year.
