Wesla Whitfield is an amazing song stylist, her phrasing is superb and her timbre knocks me for a loop... I've seen her twice in a cabaret format and own 4 of her albums and as of this visit to Amazon my total will be up to seven!!!She is a jazz singer with more than a tad of cabaret... definitely one of my favorites.

All of Weslia Whitfield's cd's have merit to the, as she always sings teh verses to standards as well as great songs that aren't perfomred too aften, or have been overlooked. This set includes a great version of September Song, and has Mike Grinsell's amazing piano playing and great timeless arrangements(the only complaint is the track taht don't feature Grinsell on piano, the Kroso tracks), however the whole cd is listeneable and flows well, it's another Whitefild classic, which features interesting guests Kronos Quartet and Tommu Flanigan Trio(Ells' old pianist). A great romantic and sensitive set, boy Whitefiled & Grinsell really have charisma and know how to communicate to thier audiences, and they have the knack of picking the pefect songs too. Buy one or two dosay(give one to a friend)
