5.0 out of 5 stars Hard/speed metal/hard core christian-the lead is a chick
Are you a Christian in search of some good, clean, hardcore? Or do you like bands like Pantera, Napalm Death, but want to listen to lyrics that don't belong in a freakin' toilet? Want something new?
This album was just released this week 4/23/02. I'm more into bands like Poject 180 and Pillar but this band epitomizes speed/"death" metal. Don't expect daisies and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not to bad, but not as great when I first bought it.
I bought this cd because at the time I had just started to get into heavy metal and the other reason is because the lead vocalist was a woman. I still like the fact that it is a woman screaming and all but the music now seems to me just plain average. After a while, all the songs start to sound the same and the drumming isn't that great either, though I've heard that the...

Don't expect daisies and daffodils here. Expect thrashing guitars and pure speed. The lead singer is a girl, her name is Dacey-originally from the unsigned band Inraged- but she growls out the lyrics with enough intensity to blast the devil's head off. Don't let the chick thing fool you, this is not a chick band, the lead singer growls and screams like a guy. About one or two songs reveal the lead singer's feminine voice. If you really like the speed/death metal scene(like Zao or Pantera) and want a clean positive, album, whether Christian or not get it. ...

4.0 out of 5 stars pick a half any half, July 16, 2004

Personally, I like the 2nd half of the CD(Scars for Tomorrow and after) most. With Hateful Pride is the only one from the first half that I really enjoy a lot.

The 2nd half has more variety to me, but some people may find the first half more exciting.

Either way, I don't think there's anyway you could find yourself seriously listening through the whole CD from start to finish(unless you're not paying attention to it at all) without becoming very, very bored.

The music is good, and there are small differences between the songs(especially in the 2nd half ;) ) but it can get tiresome if you listen to too much of it.

Despite that, the CD is definitely worth buying. The drumming and vocals are amazingly good, even if the guitarwork is only average.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like Nothing Else, September 25, 2004
This review is from: September (Audio CD)
Forget The comparison between Kittie, Otep or whatever chick band. This band is way different and way better.Don't be fooled because is a girl on a rock band, this girl can scream like a mad guy. Their voice is simply amazing and blows you away, incredible drums that's makes you start to mosh. Favorite tracks: One Kiss, Trusted Crown. Get this if you want real hardcore, even if you are christian or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars oh my god???, November 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: September (Audio CD)
My friend told me that i should check out this band. I was reading about them and found out they were christian metal....i thought to myself "it's christian, how heavy can it be?" so i gave it a chance and was blown away. they are one of the heaviest bands i've ever heard. i NEVER thought there would be a christian band as heavy as this. they are very talented and VERY heavy. it made me laugh to think that even a christian band can be heavier than the over rated band slipknot. there are many bands including still breathing with female singers that could out-scream corey any day. i recommend this album to any hardcore fan whether you're christian or not.

This album teems with beautiful lyrics, throaty screams and pounding grooves. There are a few bumps along the course of the record but on a whole this is some heavy stuff.

I still like the fact that it is a woman screaming and all but the music now seems to me just plain average. After a while, all the songs start to sound the same and the drumming isn't that great either, though I've heard that the drummer is pretty good but whoever recorded it did a bad job on it. There are a few good songs on here, especially song eight. I love the lyrics and the music on that song rises above the rest of the cd. So before you think about buying this one, check out some soundclips or mp3s.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is really great., June 22, 2002
This review is from: September (Audio CD)
I for one am not a christian, but i love this music!
The lead singer can scream better than any guy other
than maybe Corey off of Slipknot. I think Stil Breathing
is up there with Coal Chamber as an overall band.

thats my 2 cents
