5.0 out of 5 stars Sequel Pride and Predjuice
I have read all of these sequels and this was delightful...each author has a little different turn on the events but she stayed close to the story line and developed the continuing story in a most believable way....

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is a joke!
The author has never read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. But, she felt compelled to write a sequel. The book starts by reviewing past events that are in Austen's original novel. The problem is the author has no idea really what happens in Pride and Prejudice. It was like she heard the book through a friend who had quickly scanned through it. I admit that this book was...

The problem is the author has no idea really what happens in Pride and Prejudice. It was like she heard the book through a friend who had quickly scanned through it. I admit that this book was good for a laugh at how stupid this woman is but other than that it's worthless! Any of the other sequels are better than this trash!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't wast your money, January 19, 2005

This review is from: The Sequel to Jane Austen's ''Pride and Prejudice'': ''Trust and Triumph'' (Hardcover)
The writer has placed this book in 3 different era's Dog shows in England did not appear until the late 1880's we had cattle shows to sell of sheep cows goats etc.

1.I cannot see Mr Darcy allowing his sisters Georgiana and Kitty go anywhere unchaperoned.

2.If there had been dog show most of the shows around were men and men only and so would not have been ideal for a gently bred girl I couldn't see Mr Darcy allowing them to go either.

3.I also couldn't see Georgiana going swimming in a pond with Kitty only in her undergarments.

4.Another thing I couldn't see either was Mrs Reynolds telling Georgiana that her brother and his new wife were in bed trying for a baby all day and would see her at dinner time if they decide to get up.

5.I could not see Lady Catherine allowing her daughter Anne to marry the son of a Blacksmith even though he trained to be an accountant.

She has both Kitty and Georgiana kidnapped by Gypsies but then returned because Mr Darcy gets the best detective on the job a Mr Strand who falls in love with Mrs Reynolds and trys to persuade her to leave the Darcy's and marry him but she isn't interested in him and diverts his attentions to Tily one of the maids. The Doctor who Georgiana falls in love with after being bitten badly at a dog show is very off hand with her and does not like her cause she is a poor little rich girl but also falls in love with her sending her flowers which she burns confusing isn't it. Kitty falls in love with a Prince and eventually marries him.

Towards the end of the book the go to Savannah to see Mr Darcy's partner over there and his plantation. While travelling Lizzy finds out she is pregnant and ends up spending the whole journey in bed again with Darcy of course.

All in all I found it to be a crazy mixed up read, which was very confusing in places.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the price, September 9, 2005
This review is from: The Sequel to Jane Austen's ''Pride and Prejudice'': ''Trust and Triumph'' (Hardcover)
I gave this book 1 star only because it had something to do with Jane Austen. I was very disappointed in the entire book, though and would definitely not buy it again. From the author changing Darcy's name to the bizarre plot line to the jump around the centuries, it is a disappointment. Please only buy this book if you want to collect every continuation of Pride and Prejudice that is written. Otherwise, you are wasting time and money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, November 17, 2005
This review is from: The Sequel to Jane Austen's ''Pride and Prejudice'': ''Trust and Triumph'' (Hardcover)
I'm not picky about Jane Austen sequels and I like most of them but I could not even finish this one. The writing style is that of a 10 year old and I really could not make it past the fact that the Darcy's saw the Eiffel tower on their honeymoon some 80 years before it was built. Don't bother.

1.0 out of 5 stars So bad, it could only have been self-published, June 3, 2008

My first clue how bad the book was going to be was the miss-spelling of Bennett on the first page. Due to the grammatical and spelling errors, I don't think the book had a professional editor review it prior to publication. The book is a series of disjointed little stories, each one becoming progressive preposterous. Personalities have dramatically changed and among other continuity errors, Mary Bennett is now the youngest sister. I agree with the other one star reviews submitted - this book is so awful I didn't waste my time finishing it.

This is the weakest sequel I have read. The story is weak, and she slips farther and farther out of Regency speak as the book goes on. My main problem is that she has no knowledge of punctuation in publishing so the sentences are very hard follow. SAVE YOUR MONEY -- DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.

This review is from: The Sequel to Jane Austen's ''Pride and Prejudice'': ''Trust and Triumph'' (Hardcover)
This is, without a doubt, the worst sequel I've read. Historically innacurate in plot, character's choices and language, I just finished it to laugh at it, actually. As has already been noted here, only purchase this if you are amassing a collection -it's not worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Poor Indeed, June 22, 2010

I am only half way through this book and am already very disappointed in it. I should have read the reviews prior to ordering it.

It has many typos as well as disjointed sentences. I am so unhappy with it that a further review would be pointless.
