5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the Bosnian Oral Epics, October 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Serbocroatian Heroic Songs, Volume 6: Bijelo Polje, Three Texts from Avdo Mededovi'c "The Wedding of Vlahinji'c Alija Osambeg Delibegovi'c Pavicevi'c Luka (Milman Parry Collection, Texts & Transla) (Hardcover)
This book, as many other from Milman Parry Collection from Harvard University, is the best example, how rich the Bosnian Folk poetry is. But these books, because of the former Yugoslav system, were mostly forbidden in ex Yugoslavia. The reason is very simple, to not to give a chance to Bosniaks to present themselves. It is true, that people from abroad collected and protetced our cultural heritage and we must be very grateful to them. This book is probably the best oral poetry in the world. We must say and know it!
