There are seven grandchildren in the family. This was purchased as a Christmas gift for the 3 year old girl, and it was the "hit" present of 2007. All of the kids, from 12 years old to 11 months, love it. Set up was easy after figuring out how to snap together the frame (PVC-pipes, make a house, put tent fabric over, slide awning poles in) and took less than 15 minutes. It's large enough for most of them to play in at the same time, it's tall enough for adults (or a child who thinks he's one!) to stand up in. You can put a toddler bed or mattress in it for the child who needs a restaurant sleepover... nice size! The included aprons are nice, wipe clean, and aren't torn after a month of heavy play. The patio is holding up well, and my baby girl breakfasts there before school, has dinner at her cafe, force-feeds Raggedy Ann pizza, and charges $65 for a cup of coffee. The front door isn't quite straight, but it makes no difference as it "closes" easily and the roll-up window is nice. The back of the structure has a large mesh window, so ventilation is no problem. I do wish there was a side window to peek in from time to time as our mesh back faces the wall. All in all, this is a wonderful product and I hope it lasts for years! I would buy another one if this one bites the dust. Le Cafe? Oui, Oui!

On a few websites, it is implied that this play hut could be used outside, but unless you're going to bring it in daily, it is NO GOOD for outdoor use. After a rain or a little wind, this tent will fall to pieces. It's a great indoor play tent -- large and lots of fun for little ones, but maybe too large for most families' indoor play areas. DON'T BUY if you thinking of using outdoors regularly.

We got this playhouse for our two girls, ages 6 & 2 after checking out those molded plastic outdoor houses they love so much. Aside from the fact that those things are truly an eyesore, they cost an arm & a leg & are too tiny for my older daughter to stand up in. This play tent is a great alternative. It's inexpensive, super-easy to put up (I did it by myself in less than 5 minutes) and absolutely adorable. It's big inside so we put the girl's play kitchen in there & they put their little table & chairs out on the attached "patio". We've had it up for three weeks straight & it has blown over a couple of times but held up nicely. Today it's really windy so I stuck the awning legs in a couple of big flowerpots & that sturdied it up a bunch. We're having a big BBQ next month & I plan on boxing the tent up to maximize our outdoor space which you certanly can't do with those plasic things. The neighborhood kids love this playhouse & so do my girls...we are very happy with it.

Be careful ordering this tent. I have now ordered it from 2 different sellers in the past month and neither tent was what was pictured/described. I've been fortunate to own the original pictured design of the tent for 7 years and am desperately trying to replace it due to years of fun wear/tear. It seems, however, that the manufacturer has opted to make a cheaper product.

Below are the discrepancies I found. I hope this helps save other buyers from disappointment.
1. No roll-out brick mat in the front
2. Awning is not striped
3. Roof is plain, rough red fabric that is different from the awning color - it is not brick in design
4. Window in the front no longer contains a mesh insert for ventilation
5. Door does not swing anymore - it's a piece of fabric hanging from the top of the doorway
6. No large rear mesh window - it's now on the right side and aesthetically displeasing
7. The image of the table and chairs is no longer on the front

I purchased this for my 3-year-old son for Christmas. I was looking for a happy medium between a tent and a more permanent hard plastic house. I looked at many, many options and chose this one for this reason -- the door that swings open like a normal door, and the "porch" area, were most like a "real house". My son likes to play "chef", so the cafe theme was perfect. My first disappointment was that there is absolutely NO professional packaging for this item. It arrived in a plain unmarked cardboard box, and inside was a plain clear plastic bag with no photo, nothing to indicate what was inside, no name, nothing. There is an unmarked thin green fabric drawstring bag that holds all the parts plus an instruction sheet (also no brand name or anything on the instructions). As a product, it looks like you got it at a flea market or second hand place. When we assembled it Christmas Eve, we found several differences from the photo and item description on Amazon. First, there is the exterior appearance, which doesn't match the photo or description given on Amazon. There is no roll-out patio "floor" as shown and listed in the "product features" (the cobblestone looking mat under the awning -- it's just not there at all), the awning is not striped and you don't get the cute shingled-look roof -- both are just plain brownish-burgundy color, which makes it look like a cheaper product. Second, and most significant to us, instead of the realistic swinging door listed in the description and clearly shown in the photo, it has a crappy little flap that is attached at top and all along one side. Not only is this NOT as pictured and described, but it also makes it difficult for taller kids to get in and out, since you have a triangle half the door size to crawl through instead of a normal door to walk through. There are other differences from the photo and description that were just annoying cosmetic differences for us, though it all adds up -- the "large mesh rear window" described on Amazon is actually on the right side (for us that meant it looks at a wall instead of out our window), and there are graphics of windows on the outside that are not pictured on the product on Amazon. These are just graphics, not mesh, so you can't see through - making them pointless additions. Strangely, these fake windows are stitched and reinforced as if they are supposed to be able to roll up, though they are fully attached (had they been mesh, it would have made up a little for the other discrepancies. We may be making some modifications by just cutting them out and sewing in some mesh ourselves). The front graphics pictured on either side of the "window" in front are not there on the real item. Not a big deal, but all these cosmetic differences combined make it look more like a boring brown house and far less like the cute cafe pictured and described. We had planned to put toy furniture inside, but there's no way to fit it inside through the triangle flap -- you have to lift the whole house to put things inside from underneath. Not practical. Bottom line, it's just not the same item described and pictured on Amazon. When key features like the swinging door and patio floor mat are just NOT INCLUDED, it's not the same product. As a plain tent, it's fine. But I ordered the cafe with patio and swinging door, not a plain tent. Boo, Amazon!

Bought this for my two boys and we put their play kitchen inside. Nice and large so mom & dad fit inside too. I've taken down once and re-assembled in another room. I notice some of the seams are stretching a bit but no holes or rips yet. For the price, its fine. Just as much fun as the $200 play houses.

Good look and all, But it is very poorly made, the supports need to be a little stronger than what they have, for the price its very poor.
Broke down fast for young kids .

Order fulfilled by Thewholesaler and tent not as described. Cheap knock off. The door was a roll up and tie deal, no swinging hinges. Worse, the window on the door was a cut out flap too, so children choked every time they tried to walk through the door because their heads pushed through the window and caught their neck. None of the design images were printed on it either besides the door. No bricks, no front windows, etc. The only thing that was printed was Expresso Cafe on the front awning. Lastly, the poles inside didn't have any way to be secured to the corners and thus bowed out away from them.
