5.0 out of 5 stars Le Cafe - Le PLAY PLAY PLAY!!!
There are seven grandchildren in the family. This was purchased as a Christmas gift for the 3 year old girl, and it was the "hit" present of 2007. All of the kids, from 12 years old to 11 months, love it. Set up was easy after figuring out how to snap together the frame (PVC-pipes, make a house, put tent fabric over, slide awning poles in) and took less than 15 minutes...

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT for outside!
On a few websites, it is implied that this play hut could be used outside, but unless you're going to bring it in daily, it is NO GOOD for outdoor use. After a rain or a little wind, this tent will fall to pieces. It's a great indoor play tent -- large and lots of fun for little ones, but maybe too large for most families' indoor play areas. DON'T BUY if you thinking of...

5.0 out of 5 stars Le Cafe - Le PLAY PLAY PLAY!!!, January 19, 2008

There are seven grandchildren in the family. This was purchased as a Christmas gift for the 3 year old girl, and it was the "hit" present of 2007. All of the kids, from 12 years old to 11 months, love it. Set up was easy after figuring out how to snap together the frame (PVC-pipes, make a house, put tent fabric over, slide awning poles in) and took less than 15 minutes. It's large enough for most of them to play in at the same time, it's tall enough for adults (or a child who thinks he's one!) to stand up in. You can put a toddler bed or mattress in it for the child who needs a restaurant sleepover... nice size! The included aprons are nice, wipe clean, and aren't torn after a month of heavy play. The patio is holding up well, and my baby girl breakfasts there before school, has dinner at her cafe, force-feeds Raggedy Ann pizza, and charges $65 for a cup of coffee. The front door isn't quite straight, but it makes no difference as it "closes" easily and the roll-up window is nice. The back of the structure has a large mesh window, so ventilation is no problem. I do wish there was a side window to peek in from time to time as our mesh back faces the wall. All in all, this is a wonderful product and I hope it lasts for years! I would buy another one if this one bites the dust. Le Cafe? Oui, Oui!

4.0 out of 5 stars Way Good Buy, June 29, 2009

We got this playhouse for our two girls, ages 6 & 2 after checking out those molded plastic outdoor houses they love so much. Aside from the fact that those things are truly an eyesore, they cost an arm & a leg & are too tiny for my older daughter to stand up in. This play tent is a great alternative. It's inexpensive, super-easy to put up (I did it by myself in less than 5 minutes) and absolutely adorable. It's big inside so we put the girl's play kitchen in there & they put their little table & chairs out on the attached "patio". We've had it up for three weeks straight & it has blown over a couple of times but held up nicely. Today it's really windy so I stuck the awning legs in a couple of big flowerpots & that sturdied it up a bunch. We're having a big BBQ next month & I plan on boxing the tent up to maximize our outdoor space which you certanly can't do with those plasic things. The neighborhood kids love this playhouse & so do my girls...we are very happy with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars le cafe playhouse review, January 6, 2009

My daughter and her friends love the playhouse. I only wish that it were a bit more sturdy. The two poles holding up the awning can easily be knocked over, making some of it fall down. Other than that, it's a great playhouse. It's very large on the inside and will fit numerous toys, and I can stand up in there while playing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy, October 17, 2007

This *little* playhouse is great, and by little i mean its huge. It barely fits in my living room. I ordered it for my little sister and she LOVES it. She loves to put on the aprons it comes with. It is made of durable material. Its framework is a little flopsy until you put the covering on. Then it is very sturdy. Overall this is the best playhouse I've ever seen. A must buy for preschoolers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Play center for 5yr old and friends, December 26, 2008

The playhouse is very easy to put together. Size is perfect for a basement with a ceiliing 7ft or higher. It is large enough to fit 1 adult and child in. Plenty of room for more than one child. The canopy design could be made a bit sturdier. It is very easy to bump a pole and move it out of place. We added a mini cash register outside along with many of my daughters play food items to include an toy expresso machine which worked out well. Our thoughts on the initial setup and use is this is a great value.

I'm giving this 3 stars based on what a pain in the rear end it is to put up and the quality of the poles. That said my kids (5 & 3) LOVE LOVE LOVE this and so do the other kids in the neighborhood. We've had it for about a year and a half now and have used it both inside and outside. Inside - super easy (provided you have enough space). Outside is tricky b/c if it's windy it can blow up and onto it's side.

One of the joints has cracked on the poles - probably from the kids being rough outside playing in it so I've duct taped it together and it still works. I wish it had better poles and an easier set up and I would be willing to pay more for it. There's enough room inside for an average sized adult to sit and play with the kids or for a small kids table.

My kids drag their Little Tykes picnic table in there and have lunch or play "Cafe" and just goof around. They really do love this and it entertains them for a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 rough guys, September 4, 2009

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old son. They love this toy! They have an 8 year old sister who plays in it with her friends as well. We purchased a toy kitchen and assorted food, as well as a table and chair set.

Most any kid who comes over wants to play with this. For the money we spent, it has been more than well worth it. The only thing I didn't like is that the poles that come down in the front (holding up the awning) don't really stay in place very well. An easy fix is to remove them, and hook the empty cloth tubes up to the ceiling-takes 2 seconds.

Other than that, it is a lot of fun at a relatively cheap price. It is all held together by lightweight pvc poles, so it is not heavy. It does take up a lot more room than you might expect though-that would probably be a downfall if you have a small space.

Overall, I would buy/gift this item in a heartbeat.

This was one of the gifts I bought for my 3 Grandchildren for Christmas. We put it up in the house because the weather wasn't cooperative, and the kids LOVE IT!! I can't wait to be able to put it ourdoors for them. The only complaint I have is that it said it came with two aprons and there were NO aprons anywhere. Other than that, it is an excellant toy for children and it's large, so they can do quite a lot with it with plenty of room. I would recommend it.
