This is a great read for anyone looking for the next relationship in their life. Although the book focuses on senior romance the stories have a timeless quality and are inspirational regardless of the reader's age. What I found interesting was how some of the couples connected- how a simple introduction or chance encounter could lead to a life time (or second life time) of love and companionship. For anyone wondering if there is life after your first love (or even second) do yourself a favor and buy this book. It will restore your faith in the idea that we are not meant to travel this journey alone and that there is someone out there (maybe closer than you think) to travel with you.

I bought a couple of books in this series because I know a few 'seniors' who have been bereaved and beginning to move on but are uncertain about meeting/dating someone again because they're afraid of losing a person once more, and I wanted to know whether to recommend them. This is the second, and I'm really beginning to get a feel for this author.

Here we have three stories of people who met in serendipidous cirucmstances, and loved again, after bereavement. The stories highlight how one can move through grief with time and help and then be ready to love again.

The fourth section of this charming short book is what gives it its fifth star: it's a well-thought out opinion piece from the author showing ways in which to overcome lonliness, and steps to move on to find new life, friendships and love.

5.0 out of 5 stars You never know when you'll find love March 13, 2012

This book includes an essay with general advice on how to deal with loneliness and how to connect with others. Love can be found at any time, particularly when it's not anticipated. The author talks about three couples: Bill and Eleanor, Gary and Gina, and Michael and Winnie, and how they met and fell in love when they least expected it.

3.0 out of 5 stars An OK book if you have nothing else to read ... November 19, 2014

An OK book if you have nothing else to read. I did find one glaring error in the book, however, So far as I know, Mt. Rushmore has always been and still is in SOUTH Dakota, not North Dakota. That fact took away from the book. If such a glaring error is there, how many more that I don't know about? I will not likely read any more of this author's books.

More About the Author

Timothy Carroll was born in 1937 in England where he was privately educated. He first came to USA in 1997 and married his second wife, Yvonne, in 2005.

He once owned some retail outlets processing raw coffee which was distributed wholesale and by mail order. Since1969 he has worked in the British pensions industry. He has specialized in advice to British expatriates and has worked among them overseas in Hong Kong, Spain, Belgium and now USA.

Yvonne and Timothy are party-people - enjoying a wide circle of friends among their married and single contemporaries. He certified as a scuba-diver at age 70 thanks to his step-son-in-law, Lee, owning a dive shop. He also enjoys sailing and keeps a sailboat on Lake Hartwell, GA. He has had fun white-water rafting with Yvonne's grandchildren too.

He was encouraged to write by the experiences of friends, his wife and his own cross-cultural experience of living among different nationalities in a variety of countries. He decided to assemble ideas and supporting accounts that might inspire hope among the increasing number of people who, like him, survived their first 50 years and found themselves alone and at a crossroads.

He is now "The Voice of Senior Romantics." and a speakers for events.
