A Deceptive Rerelease of Sanctuary of Rejunvenation,
By
This review is from: Serene (Audio CD)
I've purchased many of Aeoliah's CD. I am incensed to find that Serene is identical in every way to "Sanctuary of Rejuvenation" except the cover art! Buyers be warned if you already own "Sanctuary of Rejuvenation." That said, if you like a restful slow bath of warm sound, this will provide it.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Serene (Audio CD)
The "Serene" CD I recently purchased through Amazon.com (released in 2000) also has different track titles than those named here, though the music is the same as the samples here. To be clear, the album "Serene" has identical tracks to another album's of Aeoliah titled "Bliss" as depicted in Amazon (one edition at least), but it is quite different from the album "Sanctuary of rejuvenation". In short, the music samples and timings here of the album "Serene" are all accurate, and are applicable to the album "Bliss" also as Amazon described, but the track names here are all different than those listed on my "Serene" album and other websites.
All the seven tracks are ' excerpts ' from Aeoliah's previous recordings but under different names I think, e.g., the first track 'Serene splendor' is adopted from a half-hour piece called 'Emanation of grace' as found in an album titled "Healing music for Reiki 3" (there is a 1996 edition also). Hence, "Serene" is like many other Aeoliah's collection albums, except that it is probably the most ' tender and quiet ' edition of all without any heavy and edgy instrumentation. Tracks 1 (Serene splendor), 5 (Gift), & 7 (Ecstasy) are like the Adagio movement in a symphony accompanied by a piano with a hymnal, ethereal character, played by a synthesized orchestra with angelic strings. The opening track especially resembles a pensive and haunting Ave Maria. Track 2 (Angel feather) has an exotic, mystical air as featured in a cinematic scene, played with an ambient mix of piano, harp, and flutes. Track 3 (Healing heart) sounds like a typical New Age ambient music. Track 4 (Angel's touch) has the form of a piano, flute, and harp concerto, gorgeously sung. Track 6 (Phoenix rising) is a piano fantasia. What makes the album "Serene" distinctive is its classical-symphonic style, fine-tuned electronic orchestration, wistful romantic melodies, and ethereal angelic feel - a fruit of long years of working experience in that genre, which may be described as New Age neoclassical hymn. The album notes that, " This music is highly recommended for massage and any other form of relaxation, meditation or to enhance your spa environment. " However, the solemn music tones and titles bring up thoughts and feelings of some deeply sobering matters that are beyond easy listening. |
