5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Driving Glasses, June 9, 2008
I recently acquired the Serengeti Salto sunglasses with the glass Drivers Polarized Photochromic lenses. I own PradaSport, Maui Jim, Oakley, Ray Ban, SunCloud Rose, Vuarnet and Mosley Tribe sunglasses in addition to these Serengetis -- and the Salto Drivers Polarized are the best driving sunglasses I have ever experienced.

The Salto model is a classic aviator style, with adjustable nose pads for excellent fit. The S-Flex frame is very comfortable. The Salto sits a little heavier on the nose than any polycarbonate lens or Maui Jim (with its Super Thin glass) or Mosley Tribe glass lenses. But unless you are on a long car trip, you won't notice or be bothered by the extra weight of the Serengetis.

And the crystal clear view with high contrast more than makes up for any extra weight. Plus, these lenses are photochromic - they let more light in when it's dark, and less light in when it's bright. So, you don't become blind when you pull into a covered garage with your glasses on. I even wore them last night without any problem.

In sum, I highly recommend Serengeti Drivers Polarized sunglasses to anyone looking for driving glasses. And if you like the aviator style, the Salto is an excellent example of the genre.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice everywhere glasses, April 4, 2010

These Serengetis are my favorite sunglasses. The lenses are fantastic--they make the world warm, bright, and cozy to look at. Comfort for your eyes no matter where you are. I took em sailing, climbing, traveling, and around the city. Styling is good, they can be dressed up or down. People will say you look like a film director. hmmm... ok, thanks.

One downside: the temple hinge isn't so tight, so they can fall off your face if you're not careful. I took em rock climbing, sweated a bit too much, looked down a little too suddenly, & they took a 3M dive onto some granite. Scratched the lens a bit. Oh well, I'll probably buy another pair. Thanks Serengeti!
