COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!!!!!!!!!
Got at bike shop, the owner offered me as the "best tire out there", and he is right!!!!!! I ride in a very bad road, with a lot trucks, by that, you know how bad it is.
I got to a point that I was having a flat tire twice per week....now for the past month I didn't have any problems, I do check my tires every day when I get home, and this tire, looks like new still.
AMAZING PRODUCT!!!!!!!

When I bought my bicycle, the flimsy tire that came with it had a flat within 1 month's time. This tire was purchased to replace that tire AND THIS TIRE IS WORTH THE MONEY I PAID FOR IT. In the city, people routinely break glass on the streets and sidewalks, which is sometimes hard to drive around, especially in traffic. I've had this tire on my bicycle for six months and (so far), it hasn't had a puncture yet. Highly recommended.

There really is no tire that truly going to be excellent both on paved roads and dirt. But there are some tires that are better than others for this. This has to be one of the best at that.

Since moving to the SF peninsula, I've been looking for more interesting and challenging rides home from work. I found a paved road that dead ends a few miles away from another paved road that takes me back home (Montebello and Page Mill roads, if you're familiar with the area). I discovered that there is a way to take a few miles of dirt fire roads and trails to connect the two and make a nice loop. My first attempt was with a rigid fork mountain bike with some 26" Continental Gatorskin tires. Fast on the road (for a mountain bike, anyway) but the dirt parts were very dicey, absolutely no traction and I had a hard time climbing and fishtailed a lot on descents. So I tried these, figuring the vast majority of riding was on pavement so knobbies were out of the question but I needed something to give me traction on dirt beyond slicks. These tires did the job as well as I could have hoped for, smooth and fast on pavement and just enough traction from the recessed parts of the tread to climb and descend well on not too demanding dirt. I could stay clipped in with these on dirt, something I didn't dare do with the slick Gatorskins. At the 1.5 width they also offered a much smoother ride than the 1.1 Contis (that also had a higher psi).

If you ride your mountain bike exclusively on dirt, get knobby tires - these aren't for you. If you're riding solely on pavement you might consider slick tires if speed is the goal or just break down and get a road bike - the larger wheels and aerodynamic build will definitely make you faster.

I read quite a few reviews before deciding to purchase these, and they seemed like a quality tire. The first test drive with them on my Trek blew me away. On the street, they are extremely quiet and roll almost effortlessly, even though they stick like glue in hard cornering. I also took them out on an off-road MTB course, and they were just as grippy on packed mud as on the street. They are a tad bit noisier on the mud, because the tread design make a suction-cup noise on the mud. It's barely noticeable on the road, unless pulling a hard turn at high speed, but since all of the turns on the MTB trail are hard, it shows up. I am not annoyed with the sound, I actually find it amusing, and look forward to it, now.

I put these on my 1981 Diamond Back Apex that I mostly use as a city bike now. Offers better traction in rain and snow and still rolls well on trails.
