These are simply great tires. I ride a mountain bike 20 miles a day about 5 days a week for fitness, and nowadays I find that I almost never venture off the bike paths anymore. I had put road slicks on the bike, but I'm a pretty big guy (~225 lbs) and I found that I was getting flats all the time. Then I got a pair of these as a gift and have been really happy with them. I got over 3,000 miles out of the first pair before I wore them down to where I started getting frequent flat tires again. I have about 1,000 miles so far on my second pair and not one flat so far.

Pros:

*good traction on both wet and dry pavement.
*no more flat tires (at least until they have a *lot* of wear on them.)
*they wear very well and you will get a lot of miles out of them.
*not super expensive compared to other similar tires.

Cons:

*hard to get on when they are new (not a big deal, but it's noticeable.)
*slower than road slicks, though better than knobbies.
*kind of noisy, especially at first.

When I do eventually need to replace the pair now on my bike, I will buy these again for sure.

I've been rolling on these for years now. I turned my MTB into a commuter, and while most of my ride is on paved surfaces there are times when I'm grateful for the extra grip of the inverted pattern. I just noticed that the bead is starting to separate on my rear tire on a 2-inch section, but I'll gladly replace it with another Drifter. I've asked a LOT of these tires--I'm 6'3", 275lb and I carry a lot of gear, and these tires have delivered. This is the ideal tire for me.

I have these tires on my Trek 7000, setup as a hybrid commuter and occasional dirt road rider.
After 600+ miles with a 220-lb rider, the Serfas name finally rubbed off the _center_ of the rear tread. The front center tread still clearly shows the product name in the middle of the tire! These are going to last a long time! Love them! I am very pleased with their performance!

These Serfas tires probably give me 2mph speed increase for the same effort as compared to the knobby tires on the mt bike previously. Decent on snow and ice too. I'm very happy with these tires and highly recommend to others.

I have been riding bikes since 1966; I was 3 years old. I was racing BMX when that started in the 70's. I have been riding on road and off road with 1 or 2 bikes for each. I have well over 12,000 miles on bikes by now on all of the terrain you can think of and I have something to say about this tire.
This is a Hybrid tire. It's not a tire that is best on any particular terrain, It's a tire that is really good on a lot of terrain and not perfect. From a everyday Joe or Jody riding on hardball, hard pack dirt to loose gravel or dirt it works very well. It's works well in most terrain/weather that every day people would ride in.
If your a Pro, then you have a specific tire for what your going to do. If your a exceptional over achieving out to have fun and enjoy a good hard ride and take it easy on the way to park it, then this tire just "might' do the trick for you.
I have had 3 sets of the 2" wide tires and not one flat. (by saying that I probably just jinxed my self). I run these tires from 42 to 62lbs of air depending on the terrain and what I am doing. Honestly, I think the 47 to 55 range works best for me. I am 6'1 237lbs and 52 years. I wear jeans a T-shirt, sneakers or light hiking boots to ride. You don't need all that comfort jazz stuff unless your racing Pro. I like to have some protection when I crash.
For what the tire is, it's a good tire. For you auto tire people, it's a good All Terrain tire with it's + & - for your over all weight to terrain.
For as inexpensive tire, it's worth a try. Give it a good break in period before you decide. It think it flex's a bit more after a good break in. That is only a guess. I say that because of the air pressure change I do on the same terrain.
The tire compound seams to be very good.

I have been using these tires on my patrol bicycle at work and they are without a doubt the best tires I have ever used. I will not be switching to any other tire anytime soon. They offer a very quite and smooth ride. For my purpose, which is mainly riding on asphalt and sidewalks, they are absolutely superb. I highly recommend these tires for anyone who spends a good portion of their cycling on a roadway and not off-roading.

I bought a cheapy bike from Wally world and started replacing the weak links. The cheap tires that come on the walmart bikes are pure crap if you're going to do any kind of spirited riding. These tiers are holding up great under a lot of weight. I am 6'2" 350 lbs and these tires hold up good.

I agree with the other Reviewers on these Tires. The perfect choice for me! Here is some background... I bought a very expensive Kona 29er Mountain Bike a few years ago and loved it at first, but I am now 46 years old and have very little time or desire to get out to the Trails to ride with frequency (install the Hitch Rack, Load the Bikes, Pack the essentials, drive for 40 minutes to sometimes hours etc.). I really want to continue to ride my Bike for spur of the moment freedom, a quick one after work and just plain ol' exercise! Also, it is hard on the lower back and butt. I decided to park my ego and will ignore the imagined criticisms I might get by going "Granny". So, I bought an Adjustable Stem and nice Cloud9 Saddle and then exchanged the Knobby Tires for these awesome Slicks. It rides like a dream now. Tires do have some inverse tread and grab the road just fine in wet weather. They are fantastic on packed gravel and Fire Trails. I mostly ride now on Paved Trails on a nearby Greenway. The Tires are reasonably quiet and seem dependable. I base this on about 80 miles of riding through rocks, roots and the urban perils of broken bottles and never a flat. I might add I did go for a ride on an intermediate rated Trail and had no problems off-road. I would not suggest this all the time, but I was surprised how well they did even cornering and climbing. For reference, I am 5'10" and weigh about 190. I fill the Tires to 60psi.
