4.0 out of 5 stars Decent saddle... looks good on a bike, November 18, 2011

I bought this saddle and a different one for just a couple dollars more.. Both turned out to be decent saddles. Do not expect a lot of high quality in this saddle but in my opinion it's a lot better than what comes on a Wallyworld bike..The top feels sort like fabric, maybe nylon. It's nice and pretty too.. Its well padded and has a low grove down the center for comfort.. I rode about 8 miles in Jeans because that is how I like to test a saddle.. This one rode well and is comfortable..I prefer the Avenir Men's 100 Series Mountian Saddle over this one and it cost only a tiny bit more. For the bang for the buck it's a good deal..However, I have both saddles and both are good to better than what comes on a cheap bike..I look underneath a saddle to see how the cover is held on before I decide if I like it. This cover is not held to well but is better than the ones with staples..So I gave this saddle a 4 based on that.. If you ride 8 or 10 miles a day, this saddle may work well for you.. If you ride 20 miles or more at one time I suggest the Aventir Mens 100 Series saddle which I gave a 5 star rating..For just a few dollars more you can have the Aventir which I feel is quiet a bit better. NOTE: It takes a while to get used to a new saddle. With any new saddle you may need to raise your seat and start over with adjustments. I try going up half inch at a time until I get it high. THEN, I let it back down a tiny bit. Sometimes it takes me 10 miles or so before I am satisfied..Don't make a judgment on your saddle to hastily. Saddle adjustment is critical for a good ride and it differes from one to another. Also just because one saddle feels good for me does not mean it's best for you..Try different saddles until you find one YOU like......Good luck..

4.0 out of 5 stars Works for me, September 21, 2009
This review is from: Reactive Gel Cycle Saddle (Men's) (Sports)
I had purchaed a PlanetBike men's A.R.S. saddle based on the reviews. An hour into my weekend 50 mile ride, my backside said no more. I found the nearest bike shop and purchased this saddle. Switched saddles right there on the sidewalk. I finished my ride in comfort. The saddle is a little on the heavy side, about a pound, but it works for me. I would recommend it. But this is just my expierence, your's may differ.

The seat is comfortable and not so small that it leaves my 260lb 6'1" frame aching afterward, which is a problem I had with my old seat.

The only downside is that all the graphics/print on the seat rubbed off during the first 20 miles of riding. Not a big deal for me.
