Not so good for Gerbils, June 22, 2011

I only give my gerbils what they will eat completely in one day, but they still got fat on this. Apparently, hamsters will horde food, so can handle the high fat foods like sunflower seeds since they will stash them and not eat them all, but gerbils will eat them first and can become overweight. So, I am going to pay the extra for real gerbil food and, for now, just pick out the sunflower seeds until that gets here. Otherwise, this has been fine and would probably be great for hamsters.
