This DVD is from the Sergei Bongart Film produced in 1982 to accompany the Limited Collectors Edition Book and Laser Disc as part of the "Profiles in American Art" series, (with only 100 produced, the book long ago sold out and out of print). The original publisher and the Filmmaker has now produced from the original Master Tapes this treasure onto DVD (Sony Disc). Footage includes scores of Bongart paintings in detail. Wonderful footage of Bongart discussing his philosophy of Art from his studio in the former home of Nicolai Fechin; and from his summer place in rural Idaho. Watch as Bongart paints and helps his students.. Including Gene Hackman. A remarkable production. Running time appx 28 minutes. Executive Producer, William G Kerr. Narrator Alexander Scourby.
