Thoughtful, informative and witty. Oksana Blugakowa has done excellent in depth research on Eisenstein. The book brings out the range of his interests not only in cinema but in art, architecture and psychology. I suggest reading her other essays as well. I only wish that her other book on Eisenstein "Sergej Eisenstein : drei Utopien : Architekturentwuerfe zur Filmtheorie" was translated into English.
