Rachel Papo's book has provided a unique and inspiring insight into the lives of soldiers so frequently generalized by mass media. The pictures go beyond the military and explore these women as individuals caught in a system that demands an emotional as well as physical toll. Amazing photos, highly recommended!

This books is of my two favorite coffee table books and a very good conversation starter. The author and photographer is a former IDF soldier herself who revisits both her experiences and explores new ones through her photography. The IDF female soldier seems to already have a large following but they way the author presents her pictures and story in the book is very good. All the photos are interesting and even more so for those with an interest in the IDF.

I saw some pictures from Serial No. 3817131 in the foyer at City Opera in New York during a performance of Esther in November 2009, and I was struck by the power of the images (and the attractive subjects), so I bought the book of the pictures as a Christmas present for my 17-yr old warrior princess daughter whose hobby in photography, who is an intrepid adventurer, and who is always arguing.

The whole family enjoyed this book.
