Larry Weidel, author of Serial Winner, has written an informative how-to guide that anyone can follow and become a serial winner. The key to success is found in the subtitle – 5 Actions to Create your Cycle of Success. The overall theme of the book is that success is achieve by taking action.
Mr. Weidel gives plenty of tips about achieving success. He gives great insights and excellent advice that will help anyone improve their chances of success. But just knowing the tips and insights will not improve your chances of success. Only by implementing what he teaches can you expect to improve your lot in life.
There is a simple 5 step process that forms the basis for his approach to success. He calls this The Cycle of Winning.
1. Decide – unless you make a firm decision, commit to a specific goal, you will be wandering aimlessly through life. Decide.
2. Overdo – take massive action. Instead of trying to do enough to get by, do way more than you think is necessary.
3. Adjust – once you take action, you can begin to measure the results and adjust your actions based on the results you have achieved. Repeat the process.
4. Finish – there is no payoff until you finish. Ninety-eight percent finished is not finished. So many serial entrepreneurs are guilty of starting but not finishing. To be successful you must finish what you start.
5. Keep Improving – Mr. Weidel says the key to a being a Serial Winner is ABI – Always Be Improving.Read more ›
As with most books dealing with self-improvement, the core ideas could easily be laid out in a couple of pages. 10% of the book is about the methodology and core notions on how to become a serial winner, and 90% is a bunch of stories, anecdotes, phrases and examples to support it.
This one consists in five simple truisms that make a good framework for the author to expand on how to act decisively and with a strong focus, adjusting during the way, always finishing and keep aiming higher (or expanding on new goals) after the first set of goals is achieve.
You have to be in the mood for this one, as with most self-help books. You won’t find any secrets or hidden gems on how to achieve success, just a good peep talk. And sometimes, that’s all that you need when you feel compelled to read a book called Serial Winner.
