Lesser known... but ANOTHER GEM FROM JOBIM!!!, November 9, 2007
This review is from: Serie 100 Anos De Musica (Audio CD)
This album was recorded in 1977 and is just one of several collaboration albums Jobim recorded during the seventies and early eighties (the most famous one is perhaps the fabulous ELIS & TOM released in 1974).
This one with Miucha is another strike of genius. Here, Jobim plays and sings with Miucha two songs from his own songbook along with works from other Brazilian top composers like Chico Buarque de Hollanda (who joins them on three songs), Caetano Veloso, Ary Barroso e Vinícius de Morais.
But don't let yourself think, for a moment, that this album is a lesser moment in Brazilian music. Miucha's voice is at its best and everybody seems so relaxed you wish you were there. In fact, this is one of those albums where you can feel the deep spirit of love and friendship between all the people involved.
My favorite songs are... all of them! (laughs)
