A near perfect collection from the world's reigning Sambista, November 14, 2003

I can't say I understand a single word da Vila is singing, but his voice -- a honey'd baritone nearly as deep as Barry White's -- makes everything sound like sheer silk sheet poetry.
This collects about 25 years of the man's output. Some of early material is rather raw, but "Ex-amor" and "Quero Quero" are mindblowingly catchy and exceptionally produced. The players are exquisite. A fabulous record.
