I know that Rush Limbaugh is the smartest man in America, not only on politics but also for directing me to this most wonderful music. This music is great and Rush is the GREATEST!!!! I am glad that I purchased this music from amazon.com.

Unless your a die-hard purist, you're in for a real treat! These "modernized" renditions by the late Waldo de los Rios are done tastefully and reverently, and are truly refreshing and enjoyable!

The first eight tracks are the exact same ones from the 1971 UA release "Sinfonias" so if you are looking for that album, here it is! This is the only CD that has track 7 Tchaikovsky's 5th from Sinfonias.

I wore out two copies of Sinfonias and had been looking for it on CD. here it is!

I heard this on the Rush Limbaugh show yesterday and I fell in love with it. Thanks Rush for a new genre to listen to!

When I listened the version Ode to Joy with this orchestra director I decided to get it because this is a piece of real good performance. In the past I got a cd of Waldo de los Rios but Ode to Joy was not in it until I finally found it now. That was the only reason I decided to buy this CD. In this cd you will enjoy "las bodas de fígaro" too; this is another music diamond and you can not miss it!

Waldo De Rios, was an amazing musician. I love the lush feel and interpretation he gives to the music. He really give his own distinct take on everything that you hear on this album. Somehow you can just hear the Argentinian influence on everything he touches. I am so glad to have been recommended to listen to him!

"Serie de Oro: Grandes Exitos of Waldo De Los Rios" is a masterfully arranged collection of moving and stirring classical music. De Los Rios is a gifted arranger that adds beats and instrumentations to enhance and expand these compositionsinto a very modern feeling. I discovered his work on a late 60s early 70s LP called "Symphonias" and I've been addicted to his marvelous music. His style of music inspired the popular "Hooked On the Classics" series way before they were doing it. He does it right with lush music that never sounds cheap or out a synthesizer, he uses a full orchestra.
"Symphonias" is now available on Amazon and it is stunning and moving music full of expression and richness.
If you like Ennio Morricone(another favorite of mine) you'll love Waldo De Los Rios. I was saddened to here that he died in 1977 which will make his work harder to find. For a thouroughly satisfying musical experience pour a goblet of your favorite vino, put De Los Rios in the CD player and get ready for a musical experience. Superb!

I first learned of Waldo De Los Rios from a surprising source, Rush Limbaugh. The unconventional treatment of classical music is most enjoyable without diminishing the nature and scope of the composition. The recordings feature lively arrangments and scoring along with unusual instrumentation not usually found in conventional recordings of classical music. The quality of the recordings is quite good.

Couldn't be happier with this CD that Rush played on his program and I had to buy. Love it, and play it over and over.
