This CD by one of the queens of samba, is a must for those who love good samba, with lots of cavaquinho and pandeiro. This is the "samba de raiz" at its best. Dona Ivone Lara takes us to a journey in which she performs various partidos altos (a form of samba). D. Ivone Lara's voice is captivating from Sorriso de Crianca to Muro das Lamentacoes. The climax of the cd is track 7, a pot pourri in which she performs Sonho Meu, Liberdade, Acreditar, Tie, and Andei para Curima, a total of 8mns:24s. In this partido alto D. Ivone Lara shows why at 80 years of age, she is a living legend of samba. By itself track 7 is worth acquiring this cd.
