this modestly priced double CD collection of Brazilian guitar master Baden Powell is a great sampler of his work as well as a wonder-full tribute to the recently deceased guitarist... this is a great first purchase of his music for those who do not have any of this important guitarist recordings in their collection as well as one of the best CD sets of brazilian guitar music that i've ever heard along with Bola Sete's "Ocean Memories"... i love this 2 CD set !!!

I must be honest, didn't new anything about Mr. Baden Powell a year ago. I love guitar and my fave music is rock (progressive, hard, alternative, etc) and blues....so this may show how "objective" I am.
I was walking in a Rio shopping (actually I was lost, haha) and went into a music store. I asked for an instrumental brazilian cd and the retailer showed me this one. I didn't listen to it until I came back to Peru a week later, where I live.
My God. All these songs are magical and the guitar sound is so clean. This cd is wonderful if you want to create a quiet mood or "travel" to another dimension. I like all of the songs but my fave is "Tristeza e solidao" (wonderful choir....and it's more than 30 yr old!!!).
If you are guitarist or just like guitar this is a MUST HAVE.
