Product Description

This series comes from the highly anticipated film coming out on the Spartan War drama based on Frank Miller's graphic novel. Written and illustrated by Frank Miller, the story of 300 depicts the Battle of Thermopylae and the events leading up to it from the perspective of Leonidas I, king of Sparta. The comic was inspired by the 1962 film, The 300 Spartans , a movie that Miller watched as a young boy. These highly detailed figures come with alternate heads and movie accurate accessories.

I also have another figure from Neca, the one of Kratos, from God of War, and it's also very well done and detailed.

In a world of ever-shrinking action figure scales, NECA remains faithful in it's generously sized, finely detailed representations of some of the best film, video game and pop culture icons. This offering is another testament to the dedication of quality we've come to expect from NECA.

The set includes:
x1 King Leonidas action figure with red plastic cape
x2 Interchangeable heads, one wearing a Corinthian helmet, the other without a helmet
x1 Hoplon [shield]
x1 Dory [spear]
x1 Xiphos [sword]
x1 Action figure stand

The figure has five points of articulation: the neck, the arms (at the shoulders), the wrists, the waist, and limited posability at the ankles.

The figure has two swappable heads; they pull off, and snap on. The butt-plates of the dory and the xiphos are removable to facilitate adding and removing the weapons to the figure's hand; carefully pop off the butt-plate, slide the weapon into the figure's right hand, then press it back on. Do the inverse to remove the weapon. Be warned, however, that these pieces are very small and can become easily lost. They are also delicate and should be handled with care. The xiphos can fit into the scabbard [sheath] on the figure's waist, but it's a pretty tight fit and you may risk bending the blade.

Before adding the hoplon, you must decide whether you want the figure to hold it all the time, because once it is fully applied it is NOT removable from the figure's arm, I learned this the hard way. To add the hoplon, slide the figure's left forearm into the argive [the shield's strap] and carefully maneuver the handle into the figure's hand.

The figure comes with a stand with two little pegs that fit into two small holes on the bottom of the figure's feet.

I don't know how to rate the educational value of this toy, as much as I don't know how to rate its durability, because I think this is a toy whose purpose is display, not getting bitten or toyed with by kids.

Anyway, it's a nice figure, from where I am they are almost sold out, and it's not strange, because it's a pretty detailed figure with a veryy detailed level of acuracy. I also have another figure from Neca, the one of Kratos, from God of War, and it's also very well done and detailed.

Very detailed figure of the Spartan King from the movie '300'
His cape is made of a sturdy plastic. Comes w/2 head pieces, one with his helmet and one w/o. Overall its a great figure to display and has its own stand

Great looking, detailed figure of King Leonidas from the movie 300. If I'm not wrong this is the only version that comes with the shield and spear!!

weather u like 300 the movie or not, this is a pretty badass figure. comes with a second head (no helmet) a spear and a short sword which fits in the scabbard, all true to the movie, great sculpt and paintjob. ok articulation not the best iv seen, but not the worst, he moves at the head, arms, wrists, and ankles. would be better if he had knee and elbow joints but hey it works. all in all pretty sweet figure, deffinatly more for collectors than kids.

THE sculpt is of very poor quality. Very little to no detail put into to character. The unhelmeted head looks nothing like Leonidas from the movie. When I put the shield on his arm the piece that helped hold it to his arm broke immediately. At least the upper body has some posability and the stand is good. That is probably the only good things I can say for this product. Very disappointing.

Great movie action figure. Good for the collector, not necessarily for children to play with, mainly because of the small, sharp objects. More articulation than a Mcfarlane action figure. I use it mainly as a display on a shelf next to my Mcfarlane King Beowulf action figure.
