This is my third TM-A Remote Control Timer and it actually has just stopped working...like the past two. Over the past four months, I have purchased three of these, even though each one I receive ceases to communicate with the camera after using it for a month or so. The same problem occurs each time; the cable has to be twisted and tweaked until I can find that sweet spot where it will communicate with the camera. Zip ties and electrical tape have been somewhat helpful in trying to stabilize and maintain the form of the cable in its sweet spot.

If this product keeps breaking, then why have I do I keep purchasing new ones? For starters, the cost to ship it to China for repair is far greater than simply buying a new one on Amazon. Additionally, I have found that the JJC TM-A has the best design as far as functionality compared to other shutter remotes.

Examples:
- The four-way navigation button is quicker and more user friendly than the typical scroll or jog wheel.
- This remote is much smaller than other brands that offer a lanky stick of a remote.
- Not only is there an On/Off switch, but the remote runs on two AAA batteries, as opposed to an less practical CR2032 battery used in others.

A few things to note regarding my use of the JJC TM-A:
- I take very good care of my equipment and wrap the remote's cord in the same shape as when it was first received, maintaining its preexisting memory.
- I use it almost everyday, usually for one or two 20 minute time lapses. (20 minutes being the shooting duration, not the screen time of time lapse itself)
- Each of the three remotes that failed have been tested on multiple Canon 5D Mark II bodies, eliminating the possibility that the problem is with the camera.

Broken after one month!!

The end of the cable where it inserts in to the camera's GPS port was broken.
The connecting plates inside the cable head had come out of place.

With limit one month warranty, it is not cheap if in the condition, to buy every months....

I really like this timer for doing time lapse videos. The only issue is durability. The price offsets this issue somewhat.
