About the Author

Yvonne Conte is founder and "Director of Fun" at Crack-A-Smile Humor Project. She is a highly sought after professional speaker, trainer, and the creator of Crack-A-Smile's six corporate workshops. She recently developed the Silly Solutions progam designed exclusively for America's school systems.

Yvonne Conte is a keynote speaker and author who has attracted clients such as Merck and Medeva Pharmaceutical, Xerox Corporation, Time Warner, G E Global, Continental Tire, Lucent Technology, AT&T, AARP, and over 500 other leading organizations.

Her speaking typically includes 60 keynotes a year at major conferences. Her publishing credits includes over 28 articles and essays and six books including her latest, Cry, Laugh, Cook! and best seller, Serious Laughter (Amsterdam-Berwick Publishing) which has been translated into Chinese. Her books have been on the curricula at Monroe Community College and Corning College. Her career has taken her to 31 states and 7 countries.

She is President of the Westvale Neighborhood Watch, and partner at The Syracuse Vineyard Church. She has volunteered for the Arthritis Foundation Joints in Motion, Heart Association Heart Run, Vera House and Gilda Club. She served on the Monroe Community College Foundation Alumni Council and as Director of The Vineyard Art Show. This book has given me a new insight into what humor is all about.For the longest time I was always feeling sorry for myself. Since reading this book I realize it's just all the way you look at it. This book helped me see that being funny and humorous is not a denial of sadness it is a way to view things. I've seen that with my kids. Everything is just the way you see it. If you can let things roll off and just laugh about them - see them from a different point of view, you can get through it easier. I sing when I vaccume to make my three year old laugh - she gets the biggeset kick about it. It just makes everything better. Life is just better.

Puts a ray of sunshine in sometimes a dismal world. Serious Laughter is the book anyone should read if they are looking for a lift..if they are going through a difficult time...if they just want to laugh.. just what I was looking for.

I bought this book because a friend of mine suggested it. I was very depressed at the time and life just wasn't going my way. I needed to be able to step back and get a different perspective and be able to make a plan for a brighter future. This book was the best thing that ever happened to me. It really makes you think about the choices you make. Also some of the stories in this book really do make you laugh and think about life differently. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks life isn't going the way it should because it's like a life - manual. Since reading it I look at life entirely differently. I'm happier.
