Seriously, God? Will challenge your heart and mind. The methodical way Jenny walks you through the scripture makes this a simple study to follow and by being transparent in her own struggles makes this an easy to read book but beware, she doesn't sugar coat the real underlying problem! If you are looking for a book that only skirts the root of a problem & paints a pretty picture and just makes you feel good then look elsewhere! However, if you are looking for a meaty study that will challenge you and take you straight to scripture then you will benefit from this book. Right off the bat Jenny poses some intriging and difficult questions to answer - prepare to dig deep! You will also probably want to buy more to pass along to friends and family once you've completed the study. If you will follow through and truthfully answer the questions by the end of the study you will have a whole new look on "unanswered" prayers and trials in your life.

In "Seriously God? I'm Doing Everything I know to Do and It's Not Working" I felt like I was sitting across from author Jenny Smith and being taught on things I never really paid attention to in the past. Having grown up in a Christian home, church and attending a Christian school, Jenny shed new light on things I thought I knew about because I had simply heard them before. The personal relationship Jenny points out to us through the 7 "I Am" statements Jesus made really makes you realize how much He offers us. It made me realize that I have yet to allow Christ to be my all.
This is a book that not only leaves you wanting to get to the next chapter and learn about the next "I Am" statement, but also makes you want to park in the truth of each statement and chapter before moving on to ensure that your heart really gets it.
I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to challenge themselves to go deeper in knowing the God they're following. He is more amazing than we know and "Seriously God?" gives us a look into just how much Jesus desires us to have a daily, meaningful, deeper relationship with Him.

This book shows how to apply the Lord's "I am" statements to our lives as the author shares her own personal journey. It has a powerful message told gently in a warm and friendly style. I plan to read this one again and memorize the core scripture passages.
