I just got around to reading this book. I am a school teacher and use magic to inspire and as a reward for good behaviour. This book is full of general educational wisdom, and specifically magic. It divides children's ages into three groups, and explains how each age group needs its own particular and unique method. Sample routines are included. Also, lots of advice on how to deal with the know-it-all-and-yelling-how-it-was-done-kid. This book was a great deal and teaches exactly what is says it will. I am sure the coming school year will be greatly enhanced by it.
How can you walk into a room with a thousand children, and keep them behaved and absolutely fascinated for an hour?
David Kaye does that nearly every day, as the top child's magician in the world. He carefully and entertainingly lists every trick he has in this excellent book, and explains why everything works. He explains the child psychology that helps to involve the children, and hold their interest.
This is a fascinating account of a "How I Do It" from a top entertainer.
