About the Author

Fitzgerald, Michael Oren has spent extended periods of time visiting traditional cultures and attending sacred ceremonies throughout the world. He has taught Religious Traditions of the North American Indians in the Indiana University Continuing Studies Department. Three of Mr. Fitzgerald’s books on American Indian spirituality are used in college and university classes. He holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Indiana University. Mr. Fitzgerald lives with his wife, Judith, and they have an adult son. They live in Bloomington, Indiana. The Fitzgerald family has deeded 342 acres located in both Santa Fe, New Mexico and Bloomington, Indiana into permanent conservation easements to prevent any future development.

Judith Fitzgerald is a graduate of Indiana University. She is an artisan, calligrapher, and graphic designer, and has collaborated with her husband on several inspirational books.

Michael Fitzgerald (b. 1949) is an author and editor of books on world religions, sacred art, tradition and culture. His books and two documentary films he produced are widely used in university classes and have received more than fifteen prestigious awards. He is an acknowledged authority on the Plains Indians and is also the adopted son of the late Thomas Yellowtail, one of the most honored American Indian spiritual leaders of the last century. Michael Fitzgerald holds Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University, where he also taught "Religious Traditions of the North American Indians".
