  • Designed to compress and support the sacroiliac joints

Product Description

The NEW Serola Sacroiliac Belt is designed to compress and support the sacroiliac joints, thereby relieving stress and instability. Just as importantly, it is not so tight that it is restrictive. Excess or insufficient motion can adversely affect the entire musculoskeletal system. The Serola Sacroiliac Belt, by providing the correct balance of resistance and resilience, re-establishes the jointâ?TMs normal motion.
Because of the stability the Serola Sacroiliac Belt gives to the base of your spine, strength is increased throughout your back, hips, and legs, and your chances of injury are lessened considerably during work or play.

The NEW Serola Sacroiliac Belt is the same belt in basic function as the original but with a significant change in comfort and grip. The first layer is changed from cotton to an open-cell urethane foam.

The Urethane Layer has several advantages over the original cotton layer. The open-cell urethane is breathable, more comfortable, moisuture-wicking, and hypoallergenic (so it can be worn directly against the skin). Plus, it conforms to boyd curves better. Due to it's tacky nature it grips so well that it will not more even on the most active people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of several I've tried, November 24, 2010
This review is from: New Serola Sacroiliac Belt (Misc.)
I was injured in a horseback riding accident two years ago and have had serious recurring SI problems ever since. I'm in my fourth go at physical therapy. I've also seen a chiropractor for months, had acupuncture, wear custom orthopedic inserts in my shoes, and sit on a Tempurpedic brand cushion at work, which all reduced my pain somewhat, but didn't help my joints stay in alignment. Treating professionals kept telling me that I really needed to wear an SI belt, but I kept buying SI belts that didn't help or were too uncomfortable to wear.

Finally, my current PT recommended this one. This is by far the best of several SI belts I've tried. Unlike many of them, it's easy to get tight, has some give to it so you still have full range of motion, isn't terribly bulky, and is reasonably comfortable. It also stays where I put it, which other belts didn't. It relieved my SI pain immediately and has helped to keep my hips/pelvis/SI in alignment between physical therapy sessions.

That said, if you wear it a lot or you have sensitive skin, you may need a layer of clothing to keep it from irritating your skin. I don't really view this as a problem--it doesn't have to be much of a layer, so tights/underwear/leggings are enough to do it. I imagine men's boxers would be too, but as I'm a woman, I couldn't tell you for sure. Although it is much smaller than a lot of belts on the market, it will show under a lot of clothes. And even when it doesn't really show, you often look heavier than you really are. And in all but the skinniest users, it will cause horrific muffin top. (My mother thought it was hilarious that her under 30 size 4 daughter has muffin top. I do not find it so amusing.) Fuller skirts hide it, but when I wear pants, I just wear the SI belt over the pants. I'd rather look injured than peculiarly lumpy.

So although I wish someone would hybridize an SI belt with Spanx, creating some kind of super smooth and supportive undergarment (or, better yet, that I didn't need an SI belt in the first place), this works wonders at preventing pain, keeping all my bones where they're meant to be, and is the most comfortable, least unpleasant way of finally arriving at pain-free SI joints.

4.0 out of 5 stars Provides stability and makes workouts pain free, March 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: New Serola Sacroiliac Belt (Misc.)
I've had SI problems for 8 years. When I finally found an orthepedic dr. who could correctly diagnose my problem I was thrilled! I had pain from my 3rd cervicle all the way to my left ankle (only affected one side). My SI joint was put back in place (not pleasant) as were the cervicles in my neck. I walked sideways for a while but physical therapy helped and my core was finally stable enough to provide the support I needed. After having a baby and starting a new running program the SI pain came back and I started searching onine for a solution. I got the belt this week and today I used it during a training session. I was suprised at how well it stayed in place even though I was moving and sweating so much. I was exhausted afterward, but I had NO pain in my lower back, knee, and ankle! It's amazing how well this belt works. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 starts is because it wasn't very comfortable to wear while sitting. While I was on the floor stretching after my workout the belt was pinching the top of my leg. It may just be the way my body is shaped or putting on to tight, but that small amount of discomfort was worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BELT!!!, February 7, 2008
This review is from: New Serola Sacroiliac Belt (Misc.)
In the last few weeks I've been experiencing SERIOUS lower back pain. I went to the DR. who only prescribed, heat, muscle relaxers, pain pills and physical therapy. The next day,I told my daughter's pt about my back. She told me it was the SI joint and gave me this belt to try. MAN, what a difference. I can finally move around without being in agony!!!
