Editorial Reviews

Review

"Immersive shapeshifter fiction with plenty of action, a wealth of detail, and supernatural features that are just plain cool."--New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher on Cold Moon Rising

"I read the book in one sitting. I look forward to the next book in the series, because it has to be the beginning of a series. A world this enjoyable deserves more than one visit. This book has some new twists in the werewolf's tail that were very cool."--Laurell K. Hamilton on Hunter's Moon

"This incredible novel is inventive, totally riveting as well as surprisingly tender in spots. Adams and Clamp are a powerhouse team that have opened the door to an amazing new world."--Romantic Times BOOKreviews, 4 1/2 stars, TOP PICK! on Hunter's Moon

Holly Sanchez, the nurse from Cold Moon Rising, gets her own book. We find out what happens with Marduc, finally. This was a fast paced story. There was a huge and I mean huge plot twist that I can't wait until the next book to find out what will happen. There was not a cliffhanger ending at all but there are a few plot threads that I want to see resolved. There was so much going on that we didn't get a chance to know Holly as well as I would've liked. We do see a lot of the previous characters and get an update on their lives. To be honest, I preferred the updates on the earlier characters more than the main character Holly. It was nice to finally find out what happens with Marduc but overall I just couldn't get into Holly. I'm waiting for the next book.

The Sazi still struggle with understanding alpha werewolf Eric Thompson's howling skill that somehow interferes with airwaves; his problem is though he can do it, he is unable to control his howling talent. Recently converted by a horrific assault into a Sazi, Holly Sanchez becomes a healer and is sent to the Outback to find Eric by Wolven

However, she has learned that a Sazi relatives support group plans to use an elixir on the werewolves that will return them to Homo sapiens. At the same time the scheme to resurrect Marduc the snake goddess is nearing fruition. Holly and Eric team up to prevent two probable tragedies from occurring.

This is a great entry in the Tales of the Sazi mythos as Marduc arrives on the scene seemingly invincible. The story line is fast-paced and filled with non stop action as previously secondary character Holly proves she with the Canadian wolf can hold an exhilarating story line together in Colorado. With no time to catch a breath once the lead couple meets in the Outback, readers will fully relish the latest Sazi romantic urban fantasy as nothing less than love and saving the world at the same time is at stake.

Ct Adams and Cathy clamp are my absolute favorites! This book was good for a cheapie paperback, but for them? Train wreck.

Spelling errors, poor grammar, and calling characters by the wrong name is ridiculous in this era. But what bothers me is the absence of story development and emotion. The only surprises in this tale were the plot holes and I was sad when each man {or woman ;) no spoilers} fought, but it seemed only when they were characters from previous novels.

Pass gracefully into another series and let this one lay.

very good series most length without quality decrease and except for badgers most leading characters were in the Serpent Moon book. I think there are enough loose threads for another
book in this story arch, perhaps blending in monster fighter twins from native American
legends. Unless a new story line like shifters outed into common human knowledge, I think
the book after Serpent Moon should be the last. Helen

I was glad that C T Adams and Cathy Clamp brought Tony Gideone back in novel featuring mostly him and his cohorts...also featuring his wife, Sue...Since they started off this whole Sazi series...enjoyed the juxtaposition between he and the snake king....hope in the future that the authors will bring Tony and Sue back for a further adventure of their own (family, etc).....
